Obviously at some point, Ian Callum had to make a decision, should he design the Car around Kobe Bryant, who is 6' 6" tall, because he might buy one some Day, he likes the Roger Rabbit look, or around the average crash test Dummy so Jaguar stands a better chance of getting a higher crash test rating.

Having said all that, I'm 5' 10" with a 32" inseam and have to put the seat back all the way pretty much. So I must be taller than I look.
5-10 - seat all the way back. Hmm, stands to figure.

6-1 and find the car comfortable, at the end of the day as someone else said its a sports car not a 4 door saloon.
Polaris its not about you being factually correct its about your opinion which we are all allowed, so let us have ours and you have yours.
None of us have said we are telling the truth when we've said its comfortable.
Peace out

It's funny - we agree exactly but your post is directed towards me.

I told my truth but then was challenged as if the source was in question. By the way I know a few NBA players personally that own 911's, including Steph Curry that has a black Turbo. He's 6-3 so, no, it isn't just a sports car thing. It's an engineering thing.

I'm done with the topic. Moving on. I've got a P7 grill to install. You guys can continue to naggle about how something being two inches too short is just fine.

I think lack of legroom is a feature. All you tall guys already have too many advantages in life. It's only fair you should be at a disadvantage somewhere!

Not Quite Sincerely,

A 5'8 guy with a 28" inseam.

6' even with 33" inseam. Seat all the way back. No issues on long trips.

Default Just wanna say one last thing that will clarify this.

We've got several guys here of all ages, heights and builds. Most of us have the seats ALL THE WAY BACK.

This should clearly illustrate that for a few of us, if the seat could go back even further, we would take advantage of it. Therefore mostly, we all in our own ways are "settling" for comfort. Some more than others. Thats all I was trying to say.

How well we deal with this shortcoming is arbitrary. Some caring more than others.

6'1", 34" inseam.

But Base seats (not the wingbacks), and a wingspan of 6'5" (no sweep - I don't go so fast that I need it).

Plenty of room.

@polaris: I appreciate your energy and passion (and contributions). Don't always see things the same way as you, but I may pick up new perspectives if one is open minded.
We need different personalities on a forum like this. If everyone is respectful, should keep things interesting. Everyone has a different truth to some extent.

Ok guys, I was at the dealer today and with this thread in mind I got back into an F-Type to see about leg room. I am 6'4", 250 lbs with long legs (very long femur) and I don't know how anyone with a legitimate 33-34" inseam says it's comfortable. I could do it for between 30-60 minutes and I'd have to get out. And that's with the seat back almost straight up and down which isn't very comfortable either. Used the seat tricks mentioned here and it was still a failure. Not sure why some say it's ok, but for me, definitely not.

I would love to see what plenty of room looks like with a 6'7" guy at the wheel. Can you have someone take a pic of you in driving position from above (since it's a vert) and post it?

My anecdotal experience..... I confirmed I was going to buy this after I found out about the manual transmission, and while searching youtube found a post that I can't find... of a dealership showing a 6'8" guy getting into the car, without much problem. That nailed it for me. I wish I could find the video, and let them know they helped sell a car. My stats:

6'6", 225lbs. 36 inseam. Relatively bad upper back and pinched shoulder nerve. Very active tho, so healthy otherwise.

Dress shoes get my knee a bit closer to the steering wheel than I like. My seat is all the way back (just realized destroying/damaging bulkhead, and both my dry cleaning hooks have the rubber ripped off. I've got Performance Seats)

So, as to long trips:

4207 miles, 9 states, 10 national parks. 3 weeks (including 5 days in Portland for business).

Drive days were all driving, not much lookie loo beyond gas or grabbing something to eat.

Marin to Crater Lake - 10 hours
Crater to Portland - 5.5hrs
Portland to Spokane - 5.5hrs
Spokane to Glacier - 4.5hrs
Glacier to Three Forks - 5+hrs
Three Forks to Yellowstone - 3.5hrs
Yellowstone to Jackson - 2.5hrs
Jackson to Moab/Arches - 9 hours
Moab to Amangiri (Arizona/Utah border) - 4.5hrs
Aman to Las Vegas w/ North Rim Grand Canyon - 6.5hrs
Las Vegas to Marin- 11 hours (had to pick up our dog in Petaluma, which added 1.5hrs)

It wasn't until the last 4 hours of the very last day my back was sorta painfully twinging and tightening up. I never, EVER had to stop once because of back pain or exhaustion.

And I am going to blow ALL of your minds, noting it's not particularly safe... but when in cruise control, you can extend your feet under, and past, the pedals to actually *FULLY* stretch out your legs. It's almost like a bulkhead compartment in a boat... you could literally fit and store stuff in there. There is SO MUCH SPACE from the pedals to the end of the cab space.

Of course, that's only for uneventful roads in cruise control, but still... surprising.

So from the (seemingly EDIT: 2nd tallest) tallest guy here, the only complaint I can make is that our arms are long and speedy shifting can be daunting (or at least you come close to elbowing the passenger in the face, while avoiding getting cuts from the poorly place cupholder cup straws).

When the car was delivered, I had about 5 seconds of sheer panic, thinking I couldn't fit. For the 1st 4 months, I drove with my shoes off. Now dress shoes, gym shoes, etc are fine. My hiking boots were weird, as I burnt the clutch without the responsiveness I was used to. LOL

I think you need to test it for yourself.

But to say there isn't enough legroom simply makes me think people are looking to drive a big rig, or they didn't fiddle with the seat enough. Put it down, back, and tilt the wheel up a bit. You should be fine.

I mean, again... 6'6", driving for 5-10 hours a day for 3 weeks, and zero issues. How can there *not* be enough leg room? That's an honest question, because it's not like I break the laws of thermodynamics or anything. Entropy is in full effect, and I'm fitting fine.

I'll post a pic shortly.

I need some of those. HE's just opionated, and passionate about it. He did have a great point about the seat being all the way back for most of us... I think I would take no more than one more half inch... but it's a fair point. But this is like a spaceship cockpit, and I'd rather have that. =)

Amazing how you can hide stuff everywhere tho. I had a cow's worth of beef jerky packs behind my seat.

I was looking for an option when my XFR gets too tired. Wanted to stay in the family and still have a SC 5.0.

I am perplexed by such tall people being able to fit and I don't. I would see the same things on the Corvette forum. Walking the dog tonight I han an epiphany...

I'm thinking it may be my posterior. It's very high up and sticks out a lot farther than most. In fact, people have commented that although I'm white, I have a black man's butt. I think where that extra is located probably robs me of the precious 2 extra inches of legroom I'd desire in both the F-Type and Vette.

I know I'm going to catch some s**t for saying my aforementioned theory, but it's all I can attribute it to. Anyone else with the legroom issue with 33+ inch inseam have a big ***???
