In the 2 seat, luxury sports car class, the F-Type seems to be doing well vs. it's competitors in the U.S. The problem is it's a limited market.

I see a fair amount of Fs around these parts. Sedans are a hard sell in today's market, two seaters even harder. Lot's more old guys have always wanted a Vette, which is a pretty good car. I have never really wanted a Vette and truth be told, I don't even want an F. I prefer the older XK four seat design. People don't fit in the back seat but luggage does.

If you think about it that is not even a lot of Corvettes considering how many Chev dealers there are and the price. I'm constantly amazed how 911's sell as they cost more and more, for that matter all Porsche. I haven't even seen many new Miata's around. Not really a 2 seater time. Plenty of Merc S and suv's!

I will have to change my forum name to nobody1, other f type owners can follow ....nobody2, 3, etc. We could do the renaming chronologically in the order of purchase. That should be fair.

It's ok with me that the F type is a low selling vehicle.. I like the uniqueness of it..

Same. It's high on the list of why I didn't seriously consider a 911 or a Corvette.

Vette is a hell of a car for the $, but everybody has one. Now if/when the mid-engine version comes out...

At this price point it isn't exactly people's car.

1500 miles into my road trip now, and I've seen no other f-types.

As much as I love the F-Type, there are three reasons why I couldn't buy one;

1. The lack of luggage space means I could not use it for most trips that I do
2. I'm too tall & fat to be comfortable in one (the XK is much roomier)
3. They are too expensive in Australia (double the US prices)

Apart from point 3, i'm sure there are other's who are in the same boat. Sports cars are not for everyone...

Packing light is rarely an option for me if i'm heading to or from the airport...

Shall we size off as to who's taller and fatter? LOL

Australia and their crazy taxes on automobiles. Too bad you can't vote some of your politicians out and undo some of that. I know it's not easy, the crap we put up with over here is unbelievable. But if you start to over tax our cars, you have a revolution on your hands. We kicked a sitting governor out of office for trying that.

:-) that not a completion either of us really want to win I'm guessing, well maybe the tall bit. I do take the car for overnight or two night domestic trips and leave it at the valet but for those trips I easily have enough space as I never take checked baggage. For longer or international I always leave the car at home and take a taxi.

Well there are too ways to look at that. Yes it's annoying that wer pay so much more for cars but the revenue needs to come from somewhere, arguably cars are not a lesser of evils place to put the tax compared to other options and the tax ramps up at the upper end so that it targets luxury cars more than basic cars. No one "needs" an F type.

I disagree. We work very hard to have nice things, and we shouldn't be punished because of it. When I start up my Aston Martin, I think yes, yes I do need this car. When it's a 100 degrees out and I drive around in my 7000 lb Raptor with with the AC and cooled seats on, life is good.
