The outside diameter of the extraction tube is 9 mm so you want a bit of hose or a connector with an internal diameter of 9 mm.
My pump (el cheapo Chinese one but it works great) came with only two different tubes, one about 6 mm external diameter which fitted inside the extraction tube but way too loosely to form a seal and the other had a 10 mm internal diameter plug on the end - too big for a decent seal.
But I already had a couple of 9 mm internal diameter plastic vacuum plugs which fitted perfectly over the end of the extraction tube, so I simply drilled out the end of one and stuck it inside the 10 mm plug. Perfect fit, tight as a fish's wotsit, hey presto the pump worked a charm!

ended up doing it the old school way again since i had a spare oe drain plug and was changing oil brand

oil drain plug is mounted on side of the sump, so it's not designed to be extracted this way, jacked up one side and got another ~250ml out

used the new motul JLR specific oil

Yep, I have commented before about "which method gets the most old oil out, the extraction pump or the sump plug?" and as far as I could figure out it's a dead heat, they both leave a fair whack behind.
Coz as you say the bottom edge of the side mounted sump plug is still some 4 mm above the bottom of the sump pan, and the bottom end of the extraction tube is also some 4 mm above the bottom of the pan.
Must admit though I never thought about tilting the car over a bit, maybe coz when DIYing it using trolley jacks and axle stands and crawling under the car it didn't strike me as all that safe!

Edit - I wonder, as well as tilting the car, could you insert a suction pump tube in the sump plug hole and suck it damn near dry?

i'd prob do one or the other, after tilting i stuck my pinkie in and couldn't feel any remaining pooled oil around the drain hole opening worth the hassle

I notice there is a few different choices with the mityvac on Amazon. Which one is the correct one to get and is there any other attachments needed?

Just make certain to get one large enough to handle 7 qts.

This is what I got (MityVac 7201), after recommendations here. It come with 3 different sized tubes, one of which fits the extraction pipe under the F-type's oil-fill cap.

Just bought the mityvac 7201, 90mm flute oil filter wrench from amazon.

And grabbed this for oil and filter. Pretty dam good price, although I don't need the oil drain plug.

According to this the extraction method gets more oil out then the traditional way.

Quick question - getting ready to use my mityvac for the first time.
How long should I run the engine prior to get the oil warmed up? (Overnight, cold engine)
I always thought just 2-3 minutes but now I see guys doing ten minutes.
That seems to long.
2-3 minutes should warm the oil to 100 degrees. Is that sufficient enough for the mityvac?
I would think to hot and it would burn the insides of the tube while extracting.

30 seconds and let it cool down and run down for 5 minutes.
Hot oil will deform all the plastic parts.

If you dont care how long it takes to extract the oil (I dont) you can do it with room temperature oil, You will just have to go back and pump the vac a few more times.

The only way to get 98% of the old oil out is to do a double oil change with cheap oil for the second fill.
And you must pour at least 1 qt of the second oil through the oil filter housing.

That's excessive. Ill take my chances with just the one and using the mityvac.

I think 30 seconds is not long enough. I am going to do at least a minute or two.
Can't imagine 30 seconds making much a difference.

Yes how much is enough is entirely at the discretion of the owner.
Point is; no amount of draining or sucking will get more than 85% of the old oil out.
There are many areas oil simply does not drain from. In the video you posted he shows how much remains in the oil pan, well thats the least of the worries....
When you remove your old oil filter, vacuum up the oil in the housing, it will amaze you, you have to stick the tube down the hole.

If you are interested in that sort of a thing. The easier thing to do is pour 1/4 quart of fresh oil down the oil filter housing. Then siphon it up in the oil change.

Guys please forgive the noob question. Just got done extracting about 7 liters of oil with my mityvac from my 16' R (which I don't get cause my car is suppose to only take 6.5 liters, weird and it wasn't overfilled prior). However it Worked great!
Question is when filling it back up with oil the oil doesn't have to go in the little tube I extracted from right? I figure it is going to go some in there and some to the sides of the tube. Please excuse the dumb question I just want to make sure.
