I have a 2017 F-Type R. When I hit the lock button on my key fob, the horn beeps, but the handles do not go in. The handles will go in if
I am sitting in the car and press the lock button. Also, when I am outside the car, if I push the handles closed, they pop back out.

Any ideas?

There are several possible solutions. First try opening and closing both doors the hatch and the hood then try again. If you get the same result replace the battery in the keyfob.

 

It almost sound like the spare key is in the car.

 

Assuming the second key fob is not in the car, it will do that if the car thinks a opening is not closed. So either the hatch, hood, or a door is not securely closed OR one of the sensors monitoring the latches has failed. The most common reason is someone didn't close the hood down properly and one side is firmly latched and the other side isn't (very common if you try closing the hood from one side). Open the hood and close it from the center and make sure both sides have latched down tight (and are aligned).
