Default F-Type R vs F-Type SVR

So on a small breakfast run this morning I had an interesting outcome against a SVR and Huracan.

This is with only the Bottom Pulley with stock software. Quite impressive methinks.

Before Jimlighta's thread got locked, there was mention made of the bottom pulley causing issues without software. And how it can't be run without an engine light.
I'm not experiencing any of these issues so am just wondering if anyone can share what the dangers are.

I'm afraid I can't help you with possible issues from running the bottom pulley without a tune, but I am interested in knowing what year R you have?

I just asked VAP that very question a few days ago. They replied that you will/may get overboost CEL codes if car is driven hard.

I certainly got overboost codes when my lower pulley was installed, but I already had the upper pulley on as well. The data tables just didn’t cover boost pressures up to 20psi. VAP had to build out those tables for me.

It's a 2014 RWD model

I drove it very hard today and no CEL's... Does altitude affect boost pressure on these cars?

Joberg is at almost 6000 ft if I remember correctly. That could explain the lack of codes as superchargers lose efficiency as altitude increases .

Just a thought, if you head to the Capetown area near sea level you might see some codes.

Awesome get up and go Biofreak! I am always amazed at just how fast the RWD is when you hook it right. Excited to get new PS4S shoes to hopefully make it easier.

So you just have the lower pulley? Nothing else? Is it possible that with the $800 race chip Jimlighta had he was actually pulling 3.0Xs to 60 in a '14 V8S as he said he was? Don't want to recreate that forum here but you actually have video evidence that is impressive.

That would explain it. 3 psi less absolute intake pressure at 6000ft. Well within the limits of the OEM data table.

The video would be so much better if the phone was rotate 90 degrees. Impressive results.

I've often wondered why so many videos are shot in portrait mode - I just figured they didn't have their eyes side-by-side like most people.

I'm only running the pulley at the moment from a performance point of view and was on 95Ron pump fuel.
H&R springs and PS4S tyres on the suspension side.

Regarding 0 to 60mph in 3.0 secs in RWD V8 F type (even tuned)

My comments would be
1) extremely impressive
2) don't believe it unless backed up by Vbox / performance box or similar gps(10Hz) based data

Indeed one of the first uses of supercharging was on aircraft, whilst this could give power increases at lower altitudes its main benefit was to reduce the power reductions due to lower density of air at higher altitudes

That explains it!

Well, let's hope VelocityAP can sort out the issues I'm having with their map. Then it's rematch time with the Huracan

When you have the tune done, you'll want to specify it for 91 AKI fuel. There's usually an 8 point difference (depending on blend: E10 usually a 10 point differential) between RON and MON. AKI is the average of the two.
