Hey All!

@ozXFR - I see your point and I absolutely agree.
I own the Jag now since approx. 6k mls after buying it brand-new. There has never been any black soot in the exhaust pipes - they've always been as clean as they're on the picture. I already wondered about that, because the pipes of my 2008 Audi RS4 4,2l V8 are pitch-black. So, I would expect the problem to be associated with mixture regulation or something in this direction. I'll organize an appointment with the local jag garage and I'll keep you in the loop... This car has already had couple of issues - this will be now the fourth time, I've to bring it to the shop, cause something isn't OK. I knew, english cars sometimes are "special" and a bit tricky but this starts to be annoying at a point... We'll see....

Thx for you ideas - they're highly appreciated!

When you read these Jaguar forums you get scared to take the car on a vacation. I know I would not. They are very problematic. If it was not so pretty I would not own one.

I must have got lucky and found the only one that's not, then. The only trouble I've had with mine was a badly fitted connector on the fuel pump, and a slightly leaky diff seal. My 3 previous Jags have been pretty much equally trouble free, and certainly no more than any other vehicle I've owned.

When it reaches 4-5 years I started having problems with the computer and coolant tubes. All very expensive to repair. If it came out with a five year warranty I would not mind.

maybe you have been unlucky, certainly you had a very different situation to my experience: F Type R 2016 model year, manufactured March 2015, so approaching six years old, 61,300 miles, daily driver, driven in all weather, never failed to start or get me to my destination. Never leaked, original battery, would set off on a journey of any distance without hesitation in complete confidence of getting there, and back.

Only problem was a defective sat nav antenna (water ingress) replaced under warranty.

My original JLR warranty expired in March 2018, I chose not to buy an extended warranty and don't have any regret.

Congrats to you. Mine was manufactured Jan. 2016. Is a 2017 model with 33,000 miles. Daily driver also. My total repair bills were about 1,800. I went to a European repair shop near me.
