Talking The F Type is in the shop getting mods

Brought my base V6 in for a makeover today. Mostly cosmetic stuff, but I am excited to pick it up this Friday! They are doing the following: 1. Remove stock midpipe/resonator and replace with Magnaflow x-pipe. 2. Removing the baffles on stock stock rear mufflers (making it active exhaust all the time). 3. Semigloss black powdercoat wheels (keeping the Jaguar center cap untouched). 4. Brake calipers powdercoated yellow. 5. Wheel spacers (they will decide how many mm once they see first hand the look). 6. 25% window tint on side windows (keeping the back window as is since it darkens up enough with the mesh windscreen and will still allow for decent visibility when needed.

The sound should be very unique, like a V6S on steroids:-) The wheels moved out and the yellow calipers on semigloss wheels should look pretty sinister with the color of the car.

Picked up the car last weekend and am extremely happy with it. The wheel spacers did not come in yet, but I will be getting 10mm spacers on the front and 25mm on the rear wheels this upcoming weekend. The car has a menacing look to it now and the yellow calipers look even better in person.

I normally don't like black wheels but with the yellow calipers they look great. How did you get the Jaguar emblem back on the calipers after you painted them? Did they remove calipers to paint them? Would like to see a closeup of the calipers.

They did remove the calipers to paint them. They placed a new Jaguar emblem on the calipers then clearcoated over it before re-installing the calipers. I'm glad I chose to keep the center wheel caps and surrounding lugs the stock alloy, as it as give a nice contrast.

The yellow calipers look superb against the black.

I got the spacers put on today. They ended up going with 10mm up front and 20mm in the rear. It finishes the look perfectly. I would highly recommend.

$600 to powdercoat all 4 wheels and the calipers were $650. Tint was $125, as were the spacers approx.

The exhaust came out wonderfully. After talking with the guys there, it made the most sense to keep the factory rear mufflers (since Jag did an amazing job with the design) and do a resonator delete. Instead of an x-pipe, they simply put straight pipe in place of the factory resonator.

The is no drone at cruising speeds. There is a noticeable increase in aggressive start up note during a cold start and a nice increase in sound when under medium to full throttle, as well as a great sound when downshifting.

Love that they kept the logo on the calipers. I would like doing this with my Stratus Grey as well. Did the dealership do that for you?

I did not do it at the dealership. I went to a place called Auto Art. I have worked with them before with my two previous cars and like their work. They got the decals for me and once they put them on over the new paint, they clear coated it.

Is the straight pipes bolted on or did it have to welded on?

Can you post a video of the exhaust after your mods? Exhaust backfire more pronounced?

i like the spacers, but really think the car could use a slight lowering now to settle in nicely around those tires (would look even more menacing).
