As a buyer in an over supplied niche market I'll walk if the seller doesn't treat me right.
Totally. I get that. Good luck and go keep us posted. You plan on joining MBworld if you snag the AMG?

I've been a member of MBWorld for a while. I owned a 2013 SLK55 AMG 4 years ago. I had a 2013 SLK55 AMG, 2013 Jaguar XKR, and 2014 Nissan GTR all at the same time until I woke up one morning and realized it was a lot of unproductive capital to have depreciating in my garage when I can only drive one car at a time. All I need is one sports car. I also plan on selling the monster house with the 6 car garage in a year or 2.

I posted the same question on the MBWorld forum. The response here and on the MBWorld forum were not surprising.

You're right; typical responses for the most part.....a few based on facts and logic but most based on emotions, subjective valuations and brand loyalty. I currently own two MB's; a 2006 SLK350 and a 2017 GLC43 AMG......have had two prior MB's as well. Like all things there are pros and cons to both brands.....I find MB to be more expensive for what you get than Jaguar (don't get me started on Porsche!) but they are good vehicles. I'd be happy with a GT vert and have caught myself looking at an SL63 AMG as well......a bit more GT than sportscar even when compared to the F type but I like it. Hard to beat the F type on looks, fun and drama though.......the SL is a bit less fun and a bit more "mature" feeling.

2 cents,
Dave

Mmm, sound reason to not grow up, then!

Doug's ragging on AMG's crap quality, today. Makes we want to like it better.

The last thing I want is another BMW turbo. My worst shitbox mistake.

The last thing I want is another BMW turbo. My worst shitbox mistake. They should leave the F-Type body alone, they've already made it slightly worse than the first MY. Just bump the horspower up by 200+ at the same price, or lower the MSRP.

Update:

Almost bought a 2018 F-Type SVR. General Sales Manager decided to frustrate the deal and sell it for more money. I had a deposit of it and GSM refused to release CPO inspection papers and provide a Bill of Sale. I told him the deal was dead and he sold it to someone else the next day or next hour, lol.

I bought another XKR to last me over until the C8 Corvette Z06 comes out and is tested in the general public. This is what I bought and I'm happy with it: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-again-222749/

The facelift version does look incredibly ugly. The preface lift was much prettier in my opinion.

Agreed, and I hope you right a few more years out. I would have driven my 02 XK-8 forever, other than the fact that big stuff on the car from one end to the other failed. And I mean really failed, the cooling system, the transmission, the ABS, etc
