F Type V6 and V6S Owners: Longtube Headers & X-Pipe Feeler

F Type V6 and V6S Owners: Longtube Headers & X-Pipe Feeler
In order for us to make V6 exhausts (3 into 1s, high velocity cone/spike merge collector, with X pipe, new header bolts, 02 extensions and clamps, Lifetime Warranty, 100% bolt-on design) we'd need the same amount of commitments from the forum as the V8 cars--10 commitments after we show objective gains (say 20-25HP for the V6 cars) on the dyno and vbox (hopefully track but those results are hard to get until tracks open in the spring) and we're in. We would be most inclined to work with a customer that races his car at the track and is willing to run drag radials in order to eliminate the 60' (or off the line or first gear WOT traction) as a variable in testing altogether.
We would need to find a donor car for 4-6 weeks to use to mock the prototype system, jigs and fixtures with. Said donor would receive a free exhaust in exchange for use of their vehicle. Transportation costs (we get excellent rates via carriers we have used for years, we would pass the direct discount along to the customer) not included. Car would be indoors in an insured facility at all times.
I'll have to check the schedule on Monday to see when we need the donor car. If the response is on par with the difference in build numbers vs the V8 cars we've already decided to go forward with, it may make sense for us to do the V6s immediately after the V8 cars and bump whatever project we have next back a few weeks.
We're listening, please let us know how much interest you have.
Thank You

If you're on the fence about purchasing the QuickSilver exhaust, I'd hold off and do the LTs and X first. All the power is made up front and you may enjoy the sound of the OEM catback paired with our LTs/X. If not you can always purchase an aftermarket catback later, but I'd save the $ for now.

Dude, I'm in San Jose, but I'd be willing to donate if you can locate me a 58 Edsel coupe for under $4000. Or not, but I have to shower and I can be there by 7:00?

Is the 308 GTS down?

Yes, and I shoulda have bought that '73 Pantera in 1978 for $13k and that '61 300SL Roadster in 1985 for $24k. And I shoulda kept that '71 280SL I sold in 1984 for $13k and the '66 Tiger I sold in 2002 for $15K. I woulda if I coulda.

Man... There's so much of that for those in the know. People always be like 'cars are a terrible investment'. When I first started getting into cars, you could get a Kaiser Darrin for a under $5K, Daimler SP's for nothing, Caddy Sedanettes for under $3000. Nowadays you gotta spend hundreds of thousands to get in on moneymakers.

Imagine the cost when we're all riding around in autonomous pods, in 35 years I don't see how this won't be the norm. Thankfully, according to government stats on aging, I won't be around to see that day.

Oh there is plenty of interest among the V6 guys, but we haven't seen a single, documented example of big HP and torque gains with that engine, and I doubt that 20-25 extra HP will cost justify for most. Moreover, I'm more interested in additional torque. Meanwhile, there is ample evidence that the V8 has substantial room to grow.
From where I'm sitting now, if I ever decide to go back to big power and stay with the F-Type, I'll just purchase a V8. However, as a daily-driver only, I'm pretty content with it as it is.

Headers+Tune+Lower pulley=500hp?
And is that worth $3-4,000?
I'm certainly down with that. Will need a new clutch, though.

I suppose we should start a V6 clutch thread sooner than later.
