F-type V6S cab vs 911 cab
#21
Every time I have ever gone to the track, when I've had an instructor with me, smoothness in transition has always been their goal because it always translates to better lap times. First of all, did any of that drive look smooth to anyone? I believe the extra power and the much quicker turn ins caught even a seasoned test driver by surprise, and my guess would be that with continued runs, he would learn to harness those qualities more effectively. I'm sure we'll see plenty of comparisons where the F-type more than holds its own. And remember it's more than $20K less expensive in the V-6S version and at least $10K less in the V-8S version. There is already a 911vs.F-type V-8Svs.R-8 ($50K higher price tag) comparison in another post, and after everything was said and done, the test driver remarked that the F-type V-8S would be the car he'd want to take home. Finally, with a couple of years of evolution, I'm sure we'll see things like 4-wheel drive, launch control, suspension tweaks, and even more power that will catapult the F-type to all-star status which most of the reviews have already done.
Hail to the new kid on the block!

I wanted the F-type to trounce 911 so badly, that night after watching that Tiff Nedell's comparison video, I had a dream that on my office parking lot there was a sign that read 'No sports car allowed to park here unless it is a Porsche 911'.
No joke, honest to God nightmare. Weird stuff happens to you when you're passionate about somethings .....
