Hey so this is going to be my first post here on the forums so if I mess some things up I’ll be sure to correct them. I’m looking at buying a F-type S from 2015 on auction. It’s the V6 model. I was looking and it will be in my price range, but is it reliable? I know that there’s problems with the y pipe on the super charger cracking since it’s plastic but is there any other serious issues with buying an earlier one? Also the mileage is around 52,000 miles so it’s fairly low mileage. What are your recommendations? Also this is going to be my first sports car ever so I am really hyped at getting one finally. I have about a week to decide so any help is great.

I do not think anybody can answer your question, especially since there is no price available.
Given the uncertainty of buying at auction, perhaps the question should be what would others pay for an unknown car at auction?
If you go ahead, I would buy a warranty on the car before you leave the auction!!

 

Look on a site like BaT (Bring a Trailer) to see what others have sold for. Bear in mind, you can't easily tell what trim level or equipment the cars in the sales chart had without digging into the individual listings.

Seek a lower mileage model and get a warranty. I despise paying for warranties, but we are on our 3rd jag and even little things can be expensive. Try to avoid a well worn one if you can. Jaguar of Tampa tends to have a strong selection of Fs and are very low pressure.
