Default Fault Code P0599 / Thermostat Location

Hi everyone,

I am getting a generic fault code P0599 for Thermostat fault, I think the way its detected is via load voltage, when the computer detects no load, it thinks the thermostat not working. I am getting no heating issue which if the thermostat really not working, it could be on the full open position when it stopped working.

I though i check the thermostat connector before I raise it with the local Jag dealer.

The engine is pretty covered up and I haven't been under the car yet, only got it 4 weeks now.
Could anyone post photos or schematics showing the location of the thermostat on a V6 F-Type?

Cheers

First, your generic code reader may not be telling you the real story. Since all F-Types should still be covered by warranty, you should take it to the dealer so they can check it with Jag-specific diagnostic equipment . Second, if you start taking things apart and damage something, you run the risk that problems you cause won't be covered under warranty.

Definitely not planning to undo a single bolt. Was just wondering if the thermostat connector is accessible so i can make sure it's plugged well and save myself the trip to jaguar.

Here's a V8 photo, but externally the V6 is almost identical (same block externally as well as associated parts). It looks like the thermostat is pretty well covered up.

Hi
enclosed coolant system layout of V8 .
Number 25 shows housing of thermostat valve.
Because V6 and V8 are very similar I think you
will find it at the same location in your car .
Hth.
