Funny you say that… that is the plan, but not to recondition these… instead, I bought a set of 19” wheels to replace once I am used to driving this car…

These arrive Friday!!

I sure hope these work with my car…

Speaking of parallel parking, does this car have the option to auto-dip the passenger side rear view mirror when reverse is selected?
Mine does and it works a charm, as I am reversing into the parking spot parallel to the gutter (what we call "ranking" here in Oz) the mirror shows me both the rear tyre/wheel and the gutter so I can easily place the car perfectly, nice and close to the gutter but without touching the gutter or rashing the wheel.
If you have this option you simply turn it on (via the options menu) then adjust where the mirror goes when it dips using the normal mirror control toggle switches.

I still have not taken possession of the car. I will check once I pick it up.

EDIT: It should have it. Looking at the photos,

it has memory seats and based on a search :

Yes, the 2019 Jaguar F-Type generally features automatic passenger-side mirror dipping while in reverse to assist with parking, provided the car is equipped with memory seats. This feature can be configured within the touchscreen infotainment system under Settings > Vehicle > Convenience > Mirror Dip on Reverse.

Absolutely plan to replace the plastic cooling bits, even the "updated" ones retain the major failure point where the y-pipe inserts into the block. The plastic here is about 1mm thick and is almost certainly crystallized and brittle.

Nice “Propeller” wheels. They were standard on the V6S, I have over 100,000 on mine. Yours look better.

As far as I know, all 19” F-type wheels fit all OEM brake packages except CCB.

My MY18 has this, but you got lucky in that you can adjust the amount of dip and have the car remember it. They made it a fixed, unadjustable, dip in mine which rendered it useless for me since I don't want such an extreme angle. My previous XKR had this facility and I found it very useful, soI'm a bit annoyed that Jaguar saw fit to "enhance " the feature. The best I can do is to store/waste a seat memory setting with the passenger mirror dipped - not ideal.

Mine lasted a week. That was when I realised how much wider the F-Type is than the Volvo I was parking behind.

This arrived today: Supercharger solid coupler isolator

Just getting all the parts that I plan to replace when I get it. That one, based on the threads I read, was best to get it directly from ZZ Performance.

Received an update from the dealer that they have done the repairs. Waiting on confirmation of when I can drive over to finalize the inspection and purchase.

Wife already telling me to stop buying parts for a car that is not even in the garage... good grief. She is right.

So much for the car being ready... still at the Jaguar dealer waiting on a vacuum line. Not sure when I will be able to pick it up. At least I am at ease with the dealer selling me the car. I like that they took the car to the local Jaguar dealer to do a check and fix the things that they found. They will give me a copy of the service invoice so that I can keep it for my records.

Meanwhile the following items/parts arrived:
  1. Used 19" wheel set
  2. Oil catch can
  3. iCarsoft LR V4.0 scanner
  4. MAC Tools BW8SB 8" long ratchet tool. For ease of removing ignition coils on driver side
  5. Snap-on SHCP1B hose clamp pliers with flexible cable. For ease of removal of hose clamps. I am tired of pinching my hands doing it the old fashion way. Was so happy to discover this tool existed when I watched some of the videos from folks replacing/upgrading the coolant pipes
  6. DPTOOL Fuel Injector Remover Installer Tool
  7. Tool set for ease of removal of connectors. Again, too old to get frustrated removing a hose/clip.. and there are many when I get to replacing the coolant pipes
  8. Universal radiator pressure tester and vacuum refill kit
  9. 9.5 L capacity, pneumatic/manual vacuum oil extractor pump for when I get lazy and do not want to lift the car for an oil change
  10. A cute Titan 11313 1/4-inch drive x 4-inch micro 90-tooth swivel head ratchet. I have a larger one, but saw a F-Type owner using one of these in a YouTube video and just went ahead an ordered one... again, best to have the right tools when I work in this car...
I did order the aluminum coolant pipes... waiting for those to arrive. Only the pipes... the rest of the parts I will order when I get closer to actually doing the job. Wife is already looking at me funny (in a mad kind of way) for buying all this without the car being here... She has no issues with the tools, she knows I like tools... it is the rest of the stuff, wheels and parts, that she would prefer for me to wait for when the car is here...

A few photos...

Remote clamp pliers are amazing, one of the best things to have working on modern cars. Why the engineers put the clamps facing away from the direction you can access them will never make sense to me, but the right tools at least give you a fighting chance.

@wachuko I like your pre-planning - Your wife's reaction is familiar to many here!

It's great to have another DIY'er on the forum who is willing to dive into maintenance and repair...and post photos and tips for the gang.

Understanding how these beautiful cars work (and sometimes don't work) mechanically and electrically is a rewarding hobby IMHO.

Does the radiator vacuum refill kit allow for complete replacement of the coolant without any air being introduced? Do you have a link to the product?

I usually provide links to where I got the tools... apologies. Once I get the car I will start a thread of my ownership experience. I do that with all the cars and bikes that I have. Part of the pleasure/enjoyment of ownership, for me, is also doing all/any work needed. I agree, it is a rewarding hobby.

Here is the list so far:

Pressure tester/Coolant vacuum refill kit - It is supposed to work for filling as well. Still need to read the process for that.
Titan 11313 1/4-Inch Drive x 4-Inch Micro 90-Tooth Swivel Head Ratchet
Fluid Extractor, 9.5 L Capacity
Fuel line plier set
iCarsoft LR V4.0 Full Systems Bidirectional Diagnostic Scan Tool for Most Land Rover/Jaguar
Car Coating Thickness Meter
DXZtoz Articulating dual-lens borescope - I had a very old borescope that died recently due to a bad battery. Low resolution, not articulated... it was time for a replacement/upgrade. I really like this one.
Oil catch can with drain valve - I still need to source the hoses
DPTool fuel injector remover tool
Supercharger oil
Plastic syringes and long blunt needle tip - This is to empty/refill supercharger oil in place
MAC Tools BW8SB 8" long ratchet tool - this one I got from eBay. Link to original site. I did not pay that. Got for a little bit more that half the price. Made no sense to get a Vim brand of this tool for the price difference
Snap-on SHCP1B hose clamp pliers with flexible cable - also got this one, new, from eBay, at a lower price than that. I read too many negative comments on the generic ones. Where the ratchet mechanism does not last. I wanted a quality tool for this task. My first Snap-on tool.
433MHz TPMS kit - For the new to me, used wheels. Do not know if these will work, will know when I get them installed.
Aluminum Coolant Pipe kit - just wanted to see what these looked like. Just an inexpensive kit with four pipes. They should arrive today and I will share my feedback on the quality of the castings and finish.
ZZPerformance Solid Supercharger Coupler Isolator
Genuine Land Rover Throttle Body Hose Retainer Clip Set of 2 LR011221 - seems something that easily break when doing the work for the pipes. Still chasing down some of the other listed as needing to have spares just in case.

This is the tire repair kit that I carry in each of our vehicles. Have saved me time in more than one occasion:

Fanttik X9 Pro Portable Tire Inflator
Flat Tire Repair Kit with Plugs
Jump Starter Battery Pack

That is all that I have for now. Can't wait to have this car home... still waiting.

I'd side with your wife in this case 😂
I normally buy interior accessories and car cleaning products when I buy a new car. Never seen anything like your Pre-Delivery shopping list ever before!

Seriously though, why would anyone buy a cheap knockoff set of alloy pipes and not the proper OEM stuff? I'd much prefer buying a car that had either OEM plastic or OEM alloy pipes fitted to the car over one that had cheap critical parts which are known for coming with sizing or finishing issues. They were at best a compromise before JLR made alloy pipes available.

Those that I linked, were US$135.00 for all four. It was curiosity on my part. Now I have an aftermarket set that I can compare to an original part. Plus I do not believe Jaguar has the rear crosspipe available in aluminum...

Waiting for the car to be ready makes me do foolish things... what can I say?

Yeah, but look at the machined/polished end on yours... I am asking them to resend those two as they seem to have forgotten to polished/machined the important bits ...

That does seem a bit strange. Did you ask the dealer what the deal is?
