Default Ferrada F2 install on Firesand Vert

Finally pulled the trigger on these and got them purchased and installed this week. Many thanks to Sigsjag for making it happen! Branden made it easy. Ordered on Tuesday and they came off the FEDEX truck at my front door on Friday. WOOT!!!

The wheels themselves are tight. They are 20" of pure sex. Workmanship is really good and the paint (powder coat?) lines are perfect.

They were packed well in individual boxes with extra edge support and shipped as a set in a bigger box. I.e. Two boxes showed up at my house. Lip side had plastic and a soft cover on to keep them from getting scratched in transit.

We moved the tires and TPMS off my OEM wheels without issue. The only snag was the lugs. Jag OEM lugs have a flange that does not fit the Ferradas (or most aftermarket wheels). I had to spend an extra $50 but would have anyway because I wanted black lugs vs. stock chrome for the bronze wheel.

The wheels are 10.5/9 and fit just fine. The rear offset is standard. The front are offset a little more than stock and it pushes them out a few mm. IMO, it looks *really* good from the front. Gives the front end a meaner look. If I keep them, I'll end up going 305 on the back to help even it up. That said, I can be super picky and doubt 99/100 people would even notice.

Candidly, I'm still not 100% I like them better than my Tornadoes on the FS. Although my tech, who loves tuned cars thinks they are the $hit. On white or black, they would be stunning for sure. The FS is a special child tho.. Bronze is tough to get right on color cars. I'm going to keep them for a while and see if they grown on me.

On to some pics!

A few comments for what they're worth:

I like the straight and or wide spoke ferradas, as I think the simplicity is not distracting to the beautiful lines of the car.

Bronze and orange look good together. I do like the black with orange, but bronze is more subtle.

I am wondering if look would improve with black, bronze or firesand color calipers?

Think they would look great on a black / grey car, not so sure on FS though - black wheels would be my favorite.

Maybe too many colors going on - FS, black, bronze, red.

Its your car though so the main thing is if you like it or not!

If you look at the photo where the red caliper is not visible on the rear tire I think the bronze wheel looks good with the firesand. I do think a change to the red caliper color would sharpen the overall look. As has been said we're just chirping our opinions.

Opinions are good. I don't get butt hurt because we have different preferences.

The point wasn't to get a ton of likes, but let people see how the wheels look.

While the wheels themselves look *really* good, they may just not be right for FS. But.. I'm going to run them for a while and let them soak in.

I like the idea with the calipers.. I was thinking about changing them anyway.. so may try it out.. Or, I may just sell them. Ha!

Sure, show us a car with the caliper colors matching the paint. I think your f type is better looking.

If you get serious about that notion, I have a set of Super High Performance Brakes and some cash I'd give you for them.

I think Jaguny is right about the calipers. I spent some time running around with her today. From any angle where the calipers are not visible, they are sharp and the concave pops. I think I'm going to paint them black and see how it looks.

Thanks for the good advice!

Firesand...Bit like Marmite or Bovril for us Brits, you either love it or loathe it!

Black works well, but the bronze with the FS to my eyes doesn't...too much colour to me. Plain old black would have done.

Deepest dish/offset 21's..way to go!

I picked them up from a local tire shop. Pretty sure they are these.

Amazon Amazon

Those are splined. The most important part is not to have the collar. Most tire shops should have them.

DirtyAir,

I wonder if you could mock up the black caliper look with a black plastic taped to the caliper with black electric tape or maybe with strips of wide black tape, or something similar? Just a thought.

P.S. You're welcome (if you end up liking it).

Thanks Jaguny.. That's a great idea. Even if I don't end up liking it.
