Finally!!!
I agree, but to get engine replacement you'd need JLR to sign-off on this, and they clearly did since there is supposed new engine being shipped. Unless you want to entertain the possibility that ENTIRE story from the dealer is BS.
Dont you think he should gun for a new vehicle? Unless he gets an extended warranty for sure, I wouldn't feel comfy with this car.
Okay, so I have another update. I went into the dealership on Friday and spoke to the Sales Rep that assisted me in the car purchase along with the service rep. They assured me that replacing the engine would not impact the resale value of the car (Big Concern). I also told them that I do not feel comfortable with the engine being replaced so early into ownership (1 Night) and that the only way this is going to workout is if JLR is willing to give me an extended warranty for the life of the loan or longer if possible. They said that they will run it by JLR but are confident that it won't be an issue. Unfortunately, both of the people I deal with at the dealership are out on vacation this week. I let them know that I am aware of the Lemon Law in NY and if I need to place a call into JLR to make sure I am properly compensated for this "Issue", I will. Whether it be getting a new car or getting add ons.
On the positive end, They are taking me out of the Discover loaner I currently have and putting me into an XJL.
On a side note, does the Wear and Tear Maintenance Plan Jaguar offers for the F Type cover the R also? and If I were to get into a new car, I'm assuming a 2017 because the 2016s are sold out in my area, should my payment stay the same or should I pay more per month for the MY2017s despite the issue I have at hand? (Hopefully it does not come down to this but just in case)

So I got an update today from the dealership.
The engine has arrived and the factory representative is coming to the dealership tomorrow to make sure everything is in order before installation begins. I told the dealership that in order for me to be fully satisfied, I need an extended warranty that will last me well beyond the factory warranty period and I also want a plan that covers wear and tear maintenance. At first, I was told that they might not do both and that I would have to pick between the two. After thinking about the scenario, I called back and simply told the dealership that I NEED both of those things without compromise. I am not picking between the two. Oh and btw, they do not know when the car will be ready. The people at the dealership are super accommodating so I am not trying to lash out at them but if this factory rep says no then I am gonna be furious. I understand that JRC made my first months payment but that is something that should be done regardless along with upcoming months I do not have the car because I have not driven the car for more than 6 hours. Not only that but technically, the car is considered a Lemon by NY law so I am doing JRC a favor but not harassing them with other stuff that I possibly can. I am also paying insurance on a car that is just sitting there and people keep asking me about when I am getting my new car back. It is beyond embarrassing.
BTW, How long do you think it will take to install the engine?
