Default Finally: Metal rear crossover pipe for V8 5.0 sc

Well I'm sure you've seen some of videos on my Xf Cooling pipes upgrade to metaI, if you haven't seen them here they are, but my main reason I'm here I'm installing the rear metal pipe on a 2018 F-type R on one of members car and I'll be posting it here step by step video,he wants the Supercharger Coupler done to so it's an entire video overhaul
the new pipes for the V8 is here

Keep looking!
Aliexpress has it for under $60! Of course we don't know the quality yet.
Surprised that this came out too!

Yea, I bit the bullet. Ordered. Done. I think my original may have ad a small leak in the seam. Not sure as there was coolant leaking from the front and making it's way out the back. Like yo said, peace of mind knowing it's now metal nd should last a good long time. Longer than I ill have the car.

Still trying to get the thermostat housing off.

Is this crossover pipe a known failure point or is this one of those piece of mind upgrades?

Also, on a different note, how does everyone feel about the rest of the stuff in that Euro Amp upgrade kit? (Specifically the aluminum thermostat and "upgraded?" waterpump)

Like in my video it will blow and if your stuck in a 2 lane traffic lane and can't pullover you can cook your engine ,it's priority number 1 ,the others will leak little by little, and you can't just do one pipe you should do all, because you've strengthened one link ,but now you've added more pressure to the rest of weak links, trust me I've heard all the stories from members, follow this rule and you can travel anywhere without problems and not smelling coolant,
Just an added note get a icarsoft v3 to check your battery and do resets etc, your battery has to be at tip top shape, to keep the modules at 100%

I ended up just removing the whole assembly. Thermostat housing and plastic coupler. It was much easier to wiggle them apart once out of the car. I was trying to do it in car so I didn't dump a bunch of coolant on the floor. There was coolant in the big line under the assembly but it didn't spill out. I've been using my Mityvac to suck out coolant as I get deeper into things.

I ordered just about everything coolant hose wise. The thermostat housing feels solid. It is a beefy unit. I doubt if it ever leaks. I haven't installed the water pump yet, but it also feel solid. The two front aluminum pipes are great also. However, the o rings that came with my Y pipe were way too big. They fit snug around the pipe but the diameter of the o ring was too big to fit in the opening in the engine block. I went to the dealer and bought two. They are the right size and work perfectly.

From factory you do have the updated ones but if you don't want issues the ends of the plastic deteriorate after some time that's what happened to mine just get them and enjoy your car with peace of mind, you'll never smell coolant

What’s the approx mileage when yours started to leak?

My 2020 has only 29000 kms (obviously not my main car.
Thanks

Mine went around 110,000 miles the F-type I did was at 46,715 miles the Xj at 33,167 miles, I thought the the plastic updated one would be better, but obviously not, that's why I went all metal

I'm around 66000 miles. But I think mine has been leaking for a while. Judging by the amount of dried coolant under the supercharger it had been going on for some time. Little by little. I only smelled coolant one time right before I started replacing pipes. You need to get in there and take a really good look around. I even bought a scope so I could get down under the pies and down behind the engine.

While you have everything of do the Coupler, it's going to go also,I did a solid one nice and quiet, it feels good once you replace all these parts and travel anywhere without issues
