I think that Jaguar thought Firesand Orange would be hard to sell so they just made fewer. I know they pushed it hard for 2014 when it was released.
However for the 2015 model year Polaris White was the press car color.
It will be tough to find a 2016 F-Type R in Firesand Orange. From the 2015 F-Type R data that I have completed I can make a very educated guess that there are less than 90 Firesand Orange 2015 F-Type Rs out of the approximate ~1500 that came to the US. I would expect a similar number for the 2016 model year as well so you have a small pool to choose from. It was also availabe for 2017 so if you include that in your search you’re looking for 1 in ~200. Slightly better odds but will still be a hard find.
Do you know roughly how many 14 V8S were made in Firesand? Similar to the numbers above or a few more?
I love an Orange head turner. New here so not sure if I should be doing this, but here’s a few shots of the car I just traded for my new BRG F-Type. She wasn’t subtle about anything.
For me a Jag just had to be BRG, but my ZL1 got compliments constantly. The team at the local JLR dealership were also impressed with it. If there had been a similar coloured F Type on the floor I would’ve had a hard time.
maybe because they made less of them? Lol. I could be wrong.
When I saw Firesand on the Jaguar.com configurator, it looked like a muddy orange and not too pleasing. After seeing the color in person, I was sold on the color. Not many dealers had the color in stock so buyers were left to judge by the color on the configurator or pics online.
As I've said before, Firesand is the color that most like, but few bought. Indeed, my test drive was in a Firesand V8S before my (Salsa Red) car was delivered. (I was told the billionaire owner of the dealership took the Firesand V8S later as his personal car for a while.)
I may be selling my firesand 2015 F-Type R on BAT. I am not driving it as much due to health reasons and retirement is coming soon, so need to reduce some costs. Hopefully can get $50 to 55K for it.
Depends how the light hits it....when it looks bright orange, its fantastic, but at times, the light catches all the gold pearl, and it look almost a orange/muddy brown. as in less orange more brown!
Didn't care for the color at first, but it really grows on you!
I see it is missing the front brake anti-rattle clip, at least on the LHS.
Too hard to get back on without risk of scratching the nice new yellow paint?
Do the brake pads rattle without it or not?
