Firesand F Type R - - - why so rare 🤷♂️
My 2016 6 speed manual F-Type V6 Coupe is the same colour as well, everybody loves the gorgeous colour, you made a great choice....🇬🇧
I think that Jaguar thought Firesand Orange would be hard to sell so they just made fewer. I know they pushed it hard for 2014 when it was released.
However for the 2015 model year Polaris White was the press car color.
It will be tough to find a 2016 F-Type R in Firesand Orange. From the 2015 F-Type R data that I have completed I can make a very educated guess that there are less than 90 Firesand Orange 2015 F-Type Rs out of the approximate ~1500 that came to the US. I would expect a similar number for the 2016 model year as well so you have a small pool to choose from. It was also availabe for 2017 so if you include that in your search you’re looking for 1 in ~200. Slightly better odds but will still be a hard find.

Supercar and Supercars are meant to have outrageous colours..like most Lamborghinis and McLaren that i see..

IMO, Firesand is a gorgeous colo(u)r for a gorgeous car, but I imagine I am a tad biased....

white is rubbish for a F-Type Jaguar, my late 2016 model is Firesand orange and everyone i talk to loves the colour but I only bought it because it has a manual gearbox, personally i would have preferred a medium metallic blue but there were only 4 manual F-types on Autotrader so i settled for orange, its okay and I don't mind it at all...most st beautiful car I have ever owned..
I wanted a color I would not tire of when I bought my car.
And I wanted something just a little different...where I am located 80% of cars are now white/silver/grey/black. So I went looking for blue, green, and red if tasteful (like Ferrari).
Ended up with Sapphire Blue and love it. It has not diminished in my mind at all...actually gone up in wow over the short time I've had it.
Having had a very bright car once and having spoken to many there are reasons to avoid a color like the one in this topic:
1. It attracts too much attention. Not all attention is good. But it is also fun....one can get tired of the attention....
2. It hides the lines of the car. I think some colors make a car's design stand out and others mute it. To me, this color mutes it. Just my opinion. And yes, I have seen one in person and even considered buying one for a long time that was a good deal.
3. If you ever have an accident, matching it might be absolutely horrendous (or not, have no idea, but it is something I think about) Red is like that. Red is really hard to match...this may be up there. Black is easy of course. A family member once had a red car stolen and rolled. They could never ever get the color right on the panels that got repaired....top end shops mind you that were places people took MB gullwings to.for restorations and paint...
My sapphire blue car gets compliments every day from complete strangers. Not sure the orange would. It seems to be "trying too hard."
I personally like the orange a lot...but in 6m I'd be bored of it. Just me. Sometimes I like not being noticed immediately.....the blue does it for me. BRG would too.
My car looks like this one I found via google. The day I bought two other couples were in line to buy it.....it was, per one wife, the best blue she'd ever seen....and her husband told me she was against buying any new car but "that blue" F-type.....the F-type does that to people......all the colors are beautiful and I think the orange is neat. But if I were to do an orange car it would be a 997gt3rs. Just me. I like BRG too and the limitted 60y colors a bit too...but not as much as this blue. Timeless. I cannot say the orange is timeless and for me that ruins it for an F-type.

best

Fortunately, that's just your opinion, so it can be safely disregarded by people with better taste.
(It's "an F-Type Jaguar", BTW.)

There’s a reason why white and black are classic sports car colours. Most high end sports car looks incredible in them, the F-type being no exception.
I think the F-type looks particularly good in white, despite not owning a white one myself.
I thought about black but the maintenance involved with that would not be good for the OCD end of the brain over here ;-0

High end luxury and sports cars do look very nice in black nowadays and especially if they are very shiny piano black, my 2016 manual gearbox 340 bhp F-type is Candy Firesand orange and everyone I talk to absolutely loves the colour but I was a bit sceptical when i saw it on Autotrader but like everyone else I love the colour now
Before i fitted my private number plate.
Here it is in the showroom before i bought it in early September 2025..it has carbon fibre door mirror covers now, £63 from Aliexpresss.
, here it is.
