Firing on 5. Help?!
So, went to Goodwood on Monday. On first run out, car went very well for 4 laps. Then we came in, and on the slowing down lap I felt that the car was msifiring. When I got back to the pits, the car following me said there were flames coming out the exhaust. Certainly by the time I stopped one pipe was smoking and it was running on 5 cylinders (my car is a V6 S)
Car then refused to start - I think because a sensor in the catalytic converter was sensing unburnt fuel?
After letting it cool down for an hour, it started but ran on 5.
AA rescue checked the fault code by laptop (engine management light was on) and confirmed number 3 wasn't firing. We swapped coils around, but still it was 3 not firing so not the coil to blame. New plugs confirmed that wasn't at fault. So, rescue flat bed lorry home!
So I'm thinking either injector, (not too bad) or damaged valve/piston (pretty terrible)
I wasn't even thrashing it too hard for that first session out either.
Thoughts anyone? Any help appreciated!

I'm hoping it's an injector stuck open. That would explain the non-firing presumably (too much fuel) and the flames (unburnt fuel igniting)
