Default First Impressions

Hi all,

Newbie here, and I wanted to post a few things related to my purchase.

I just picked up a 2015 F-Type S coupe a bit less than a week ago. The dealer was great (not sure about naming them, I don't want to break any rules) and it was very much a painless process. It was used, but only had 4300 miles on it and I got to peel off the clear plastic protection stickers on the lighter plugs.

I am missing the key blade, owner's manual, and some light damage to the rubber gasket behind the driver's seat that seems to prevent the seat from going too far back. I also have the same vibration many others with bass in the speakers, mostly on the passenger-side rear speaker grill. If I put my hand on it, the vibration stops, so it seems like an easy fix.

I called my local dealer and scheduled an appointment for today, and I am impressed. Got a loaner XJF, and was treated with a great amount of respect.

I freaking love this car already. I want to get an HPDE day or two in so I can get a feel for higher performance driving without endangering myself, my car, or those around me

I'm also really impressed with these forums. I'm looking forward to participating here and driving my new (to me) car!

For the passengerside rear speaker rattle...pop off the LATCH child safety seat cover. That will alleviate some of the rattling.

Thanks for the tip. I tried that when I saw it could be popped off, but it didn't really help in my case. I reset the sound to base levels and that helped slightly, but now it just sounds flat (and still vibrates some anyway). It's in service today, so we'll see what they say.

Quick follow-up for those who wanted to know:

1. The right rear speaker rattle was fixed by the dealer at no cost, it was the grill and wasn't hard for them to solve. It sounds better now. Still distorts at higher volumes, so I may look into an after-market set of speakers at some point but nothing right away.

2. The dealer from whom I purchased the car has ordered me a new owner's manual at no cost, which is nice considering it's $190 plus tax from JLR, and he's looking to see what he can do about the key blade.

No pictures yet, I want to take it to the mountains or beach to get a nice backdrop, but I'll add some of those to the right thread

Cheers!
