Default Ford GT Race Car Testing at Sebring

That twin-turbo Ecoboost V6 reminds me of the F-Type V6.

Doesn't sound all that good, does it? A lot of turbo whine.

We've been spoiled.

I liked the first sound bites very much when the car was started and introduced and idled into the car show but here under load not a sexy sound at all ... 911 under load sounds much better ...

I said "reminds me . . ." not the same. The F-Type V6 is much more pleasant, because it's been tuned for sound and for a street car. That clip was of testing the race car they are preparing for Le Mans and other series. A racing exhaust note is always rather harsh.

I agree it wasn't necessarily pleasing to the ear, but there were similarities.

Well...

The F-type V6 (and V8) have nothing between the tailpipes and the exhaust valves apart from the cats (plus some resonators, valves, baffles...)

That thing has turbochargers too, so it sounds pretty good all things considered.

I find myself wondering about the air boxes on the F; how easy would it be to remove the baffles, so you can hear the supercharger?

. . . inside a big metal box. That thing has nothing between the headers and the tailpipes.

+1. I would love to hear as much SC whine as I get from the R53 JCW.
