Default Forged Carbon Fiber Paddle Shifters

I hope everyone is in good health during this time.

I just wanted to share a little project i did while working from home these days.
I've always wanted forged carbon fiber parts for my F-Type but there are no parts to be found on the market unfortunately. So i decided to make my own!

I made these using a Silicone mold, vacuum chamber, Chopped carbon fiber & resin. This was my 4th try to get it right lol but i think they turned out pretty good!

Not a fan of carbon fiber but this one actually looks good, the random pattern gives off some rough man vibe, well done!

Can you blend in colors with that during the molding process? I think red shifters would go well with my IRR.

Are those hard to dismantle from the wheel? I haven't even had a chance to look back there.

Just two torque screws to take them out. If you made them out of Just red tinted resin. That could be a really cool look. the entire paddle would glow with the light

Looks very nice, are you buffing the finish or clear coating ? I would think a high gloss finish would look ever nicer.

Yeah absolutely! When I was washing them with that thin film of water they looked soo good glossy. I was thinking of doing my hood and side vents. I want to use a clear coat with a hardener, but with this corona virus situation I figured I could do them later and limit my exposure at this time. 👍

Good point I would expect that many around here would be interested in any and all CF bits you can create, I myself for one. Keep up the good work, you are defiantly talented.

I saw a pair of red ones in an Ultra Blue SVR that I really liked. Definitely stands out inside the car. I think red would also go well with my IRR. Glossy would look amazing.

Hey! The pin will pull out from the top. It's definitely a tight fit. But what I did was use needle nose to squeeze the bottom point and the bottom joint. Once it moves up a bit I pulled it out.

Hope that helps!

Yup that little bit from the bottom really loosened it up, thank you!
