Default Front Differential

Gentlemen,

Would it be ok to use BOT 720 on the front differential or go with the BOT 750B. I am not sure if there is a difference between. However, both has the same viscosity.

Thanks

Hi,

I think the BOT 720 or BOT 750B s only for the back differential, not for front! I Have only this info (sorry not in english!)
I have an F-Type R AWD MY 2017!

DIFFERENZIAL-TYPEN ÖLSPEZIFIKATION TROCKENBEFÜLLUNG (LITER) NASSBEFÜLLUNG (LITER)
Fahrzeuge mit offenen Differenzialen BOT-750B 0,86 - 0,88 0,835 - 0,855
Fahrzeuge mit elektronischen Hinterachsdifferenzialen (ETM) BOT-720 1,26 - 1,28 1,22 - 1,24
Fahrzeuge mit Differenzialen mit begrenztem Schlupf (LSD) BOT-720 0,86 - 0,88 0,835 - 0,855

for the front differential is this the right one:
Castrol SAF-XO SYNTRAX LONG LIFE 75W-90
Füllmenge:
0,35 Liter ab leer
0,33 Liter Nachfüllmenge

Please check this information before you will do the service!

Andi

Someone posted (not sure where, my notes didn't go that far!) that the rear e-diff requires Castrol BOT-720 and that if you put BOT-750B in an e-diff, it will be destroyed very quickly. So there must be a difference. I don't have info on the front diff.

Yes, E Diff needs BOT 720 Not 750B!!!
But Not for Front, BOT 720 E Diff is for the back E differential

Do NOT use BOT 720 in the front. You need to use Castrol SAF-XO - 75W/90. (There are also alternatives to this as well. BMW - #07 51 2 293 972 is the same fluid.) You can also use Liqui Moly SAE 75W/90 / GL5 fluid (I prefer the LM stuff myself, but it is a personal preference.) Redline also makes a good fluid that would work too.
