Default Front Parking Sensors

Hello all, newbie here and have a question regarding my MY 16 Type R. I am paranoid with the front end (coming from an Audi S5 with much shorter overhang) and am wondering if there is anyway that the front sensors can turn on automatically instead of me having to push the parking sensor button? I know it's a silly problem to have but my wife's Mercedes automatically comes on at slow speeds. Thanks in advance and sorry for the silly question.

Not aware of any method, beyond your approach.

I routinely reverse into any parking place so I can use the camera and rear sensors

After a while, pushing the Parking Sensor button when entering a lot becomes as habit-forming as disabling the EcoStop.

We were paranoid at first, too.

I thought that changing the driving position higher so that I had a view of the bonnet helped (assuming you are not too tall).

Not tall at all 5'7" lol, I did remove the start/stop switch in the trunk and now don't have to deal with pressing that button every day!

I tried a friend’s brilliant suggestion of using an unused seat memory for a high-visibility position. Unfortunately, the seat doesn’t do coordinated movements - first, the back of the seat goes up, pressing you into the steering wheel and strangling you with the seatbelt, then the front goes up.

Less useful than I hoped, though fun.

The front sensors automatically turn on when you first shift into reverse. Jaguar programming them to automatically come on at anything under 5 mph would make a lot more sense.
