Default Front Radar: What turns it on??

My Owner's manual seems to have disappeared so I can't look it up. I keep hitting curbs, I turn the parking radar on but the next time I need it it's off??
How do you keep it ON?

It turns on after pressing the button or putting the car in reverse.

It turns off automatically.

AFAIK, there is no way to keep it on permanently.

Nor would you want it on permanently. It would go off constantly in traffic.

Yes, I agree, but I am not sure why the design is this way. My Porsche never had false alarms in traffic, not does my wife's Volvo. I suppose I could try to study why those two cars do not require manual activation for forward proximity sensors, but they work so I just live with it.

None of those other cars 'look' as low as the Jag. My volvo would never see a 3" curb as the Jag does. crucial!

It only picks up objects in close proximity, wouldn't sense other cars unless they were a foot or so away.

I just never think to turn it on until I've climbed a curb... Kinda too late.

It doesn't really work for parking stops;can't seem to pick them up that low.

My lowered F-Type seems to pick them up just fine.
