Are Ftype stocktires run flat and will changing to Michelin4s tires void the warranty
SubscribeUrgent please !! I gave my car in costco to get the tires changed and they are telling me the one I currently have are run flat tires and changing them Michelin 4s might viod the warranty. It might cause suspension problems, braking and handling will not be the same and other crazy stuff !!
I called up my local Jaguar service and they are telling me that they are not run flat and it will not void the warranty !
Not sure who to believe ! so naturally I am here asking the experts !!
Costco is asking me to sign a waiver !
Any help is appreciated !! Thanks in advance !!

Run Flats in a 295/30-20 size would require a forklift to heft the wheel onto the hub.

Yep, and I have a little gadget a bit like a forklift for doing just that!Originally Posted by Unhingd

I wouldn't take my Jaaag to Costco for any reason.
Matter of fact, for tires, I would still go to the dealer for installation. I'd by the tires from Tire Rack and have them delivered to dealer.

I got my MPS4's from Costco. Their facility was superb - the technicians were Michelin certified and the workshop / equipment was first rate. Tires were mounted on the black rims with zero damage.Originally Posted by Don1954

Contrast that to my experience getting the alignment done at my JLR dealer - who are in one of the new "Arch" steel and glass palaces with brand new equipment. Took 3 visits for them to get the steering centered.

Well I'll be damned. Learn something new everyday. Who would have thought that?

Always go to a tire specialist, dealers either contract their tire fitting to a local specialist or invariably do a poor job! It makes sense a specialist tire shop does nothing but fit tires all day long.
