Default Glovebox - is it easy to remove?

For very peculiar reasons I won't go into- the glovebox door of the FType gets in the way of how I intend to use the car. It's actually stopping me making a purchase. I think I can solve the problem if it is easy to remove the door All together. A dealer isn't going to let me do it to a car prior to purchase so this is literally my only avenue to seeing if it's a solution..

Has anyone had any experience doing it and can describe the process? On some of my previous cars it was as easy as pinching the sides in to release it from the stop catches, swinging it down and sliding it out of the pivot.

Better still, any pictures with it removed would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

I think it's for a widescreen entertainment ( or weapons system control) center.

Unfortunately nothing so exciting - I go on road trips with my wife a dog in our sports cars. He usually curls up in her footwell and sleeps for 3 hours, then we get out and have a comfort break/ rest stop and keep motoring.

The glovebox door gets in the way of his back as he is trying to settle and stops him lying down. I don't use glove boxes for anything but some junk and random man drawer stuff so it's not important for me to keep it.

I know this all sounds crazy but the whole point is to take off for long weekends around the state and our pup must come with us. If he can't fit, I can't get the car.

When I started this whole endeavor, I thought it would be spacious in the passenger side as it is quite a big car, and the footwell looked big enough but I've come to discover it really isn't..so I'm trying to solve the problem.

It looks like it is just 6 screws and the whole assembly, including the cubby space, comes out, which is better than I'd hoped for actually! I would just dress in the guts behind it with some automotive carpet or alcantara to clean it all up....the game is afoot gentlemen

Hopefully she does not read this. Or you missed an important comma.

I didn't notice that, but I guess it'll have to stay unedited for its comedy value now!
