Goodbye to my Couoe
Thanks, all. It's the little things that really take this car to the next level. Here are the features that this car has that my R didn't:
Extended leather. The extra leather around the windshield instead of plastic is nice.
Light up door sills. I really dig these.
Suede pack. This is a nice touch, too.
Quilted leather with contrasting piping/stitching. Another nice tough.
Real C/F trim pieces.
And of course, all the SVR goodies.
Convertible!
It is missing the flat bottom steering wheel, which I liked a lot.
Blind spots with the top up are worse, but that's to be expected.
The lockable compartment between the seats is quite nice to have on a vert. It's quite usable.
I'm very pleased with this car. I had planned on keeping my coupe forever, but I work from home now and with the limited amount that I drive these days, why not go all in? My wife has an SUV for when we need to take extra people and my trusty old '97 truck can carry just about anything.
I looked long and hard at a BMW M850i convertible, which on paper would have been a better choice all day every day. It has more room inside, a much bigger trunk, 4 wheel steering, just as quick, WAY more tech, neck warmers, etc. The Jag just does it for me on a level that the BMW couldn't.

I looked at an 850i Coupe too. It's a fantastic car and beautiful too, although I wouldn't place it above the F-Type for design. Once I looked a little deeper, though, I learned that there are quite a few mechanically "totaled" 850i's. There are design flaws that can lead to an engine replacement, so much so that it's hard to come by a used engine. But even if they were equally reliable, the F-Type R makes such glorious noises that it's hard to beat on that measure alone.
Nice upgrade, Vik. I can see that, given the circumstances, a convertible was a good choice. I'm not sure about the door sills, but if they give you a little extra smirk every time you see them then they're doing their job.
