Default Grand Tour of the Alpine regions in Europe, the movies.

Roadmovies, each 8 to 12 minutes. URL below the picture.. In the LONG run there will be about 8 more movies, but I need lots of time to edit them, patience please..

I made a trip with my son, who has his license since 5 months when we left. We did 7500km in 20 days. We wanted to do all high mountain passes in continentel SW-Europe...

But we only did about 30% since most were closed due to avalanche risk, some still aren't open ! This is the first time in 89 years, since they started recording this in Switserland..

Part 1. 22.5 Austria : The very first pass was closed. Sölkpas.

Part 3. Some serious climbing. Pordoi and Stella pass.

Route recorded from satnav. Switching off starts a new route. The red "c" were closed, so we had to de-tour..
The "HERE" system was not accurate with traffic, often passes were closed, but open in the satnav.

Part 1-2-3..

Part 5. We have to skip Stelvio and Umbrail. We need to get to Livigno through the tunnel. The pass to Ponrtesina is closed too [ Forcola].
So we have to head to Bormio, down to Tirano and take the Bernina pass to Pontresina.

May 29th. The Lukmanier pass, canyons, cowboys and cops...

For all who wonder why the date says "2018" ; its to hinder 3rd party use..

++ until about 15th of july I am otherwise engaged, the last 6 movies have to wait +++

This time a short video, as it was only a side-step trying to replace a day walking to see the Aletsch glacier. But the cabinlift was in repair : a day lost..

No serious driving, but glorious views of the mountains..

Having a quite significant fear of heights there is absolutely no way that I could do that drive, except as a passenger. Looks pretty, though.

My fear of being driven trumps my fear of heights! Does anyone have a fear of widths?

@scm I'm not jokiing : many times [ not recent ], when I seemed to have no-way to go and the gap seemed too small to get through ; I closed my eyes...
..and I got through without hitting anything.. Maybe there is some truth in the Star Wars movie : The Force was with me..

Okay, I am back from Portugal.. I will try to post a movie every day until I'm through.. .. about 7 more after this one..

This is a scenic tour, from Gluringen [Furkastrasse ] to La Thuile [ Petit col Ste. Bernard ]. I would normally not post it since there is really
nothing spectacular, except for the landscape. But some elderly friends where very happy with previous 'soft' video's since they are too
old to go back there and its a trip through memory lane for them...

Another short one, just 5 minutes. We had to detour to Turin as all passes in the French Alps were blocked...
