Question H&R Springs for V6/V6S Coupe

Did not get any answers on the Ride Height thread, so I'm starting a new thread. My apologies to those who already saw my enquiry there.

Has anyone with the V6 or V6S coupe lowered the car with the H&R springs yet? If so, how well did that work for you and what was the H&R part number?

There are plenty of threads already started about this with plenty of before and after pics... Try a search, you'll find what you're looking for.

There are plenty of before and after pictures for the V8S and R. I've seen nothing for the V6, and that's what he's looking for. I believe the OEM springs are different for the two engine sizes.

Even for the V8, they are different between the vert and the coupe. I just haven't seen anything on the V6 coupe yet.

There was a group buy for the Velocity springs a few months back, and while the OEM springs may have been different, they offered the same springs for both coupe and convertible. There was a picture of each, and the ride height looked identical.

Not many have reported on the H&R springs.

Here's what I've found for H&R:
V8R coupe: 28822-2
V8S Vert: 28822-1
V6S Vert: 28822-1

H&R claims the 28822-2 will not work for the V6S coupe because of the weight differential. That doesn't make sense since the weight differential between the V6 and V8 verts is about the same and they use the same springs for those two cars.

No, it doesn't make sense, and I would bet that they are misinformed.

Now here is even more confusion. Velocity AP also has two part nos. for the F-Type. One for the V8R Coupe and the second for all other F-Type models.

If anyone is interested
Ryan Barrett at H&R took some measurements on the V6 Coupe and now confirms the following part nos.:
V8R Coupe: 28822-2 (1.3" drop)
All base and S models (incl. V8S): 28822-1 (1.2" drop)
V8R Vert: not known until they get their hands on the '16 R convertible.

They just updated their website to show this.

Useful. 1.2" would probably be too much around here. There was a Case Magnum in the car park at Tesco this evening...

It's also too much around here for a nearly daily driver. It would be very difficult to get into or out of a lot of driveways. It's already challenging as it is, on occasion. In addition, some of the potholes we see would likely bottom out the front splitter.

That drop takes you to about 3.5" of ground clearance. I've found that 4.5" is about the minimum that is practical for anything other than a weekend cruiser. My replica Shelby Cobra 427 SC had a 10 qt., Canton Racing oil pan that sat at 3.5" clearance (between the axles). I found myself in way too many precarious situations, and it was just a weekend cruiser.

In the wide-open flats of this vast country, it would be no problem at all, but certainly not in hilly urban areas.

Personally, I don't mind occasionally scraping body parts. My MINI at 3" clearance scrapes on a regular basis ( I recognize it has much less of an overhang to excaserbate the situation). If I had a deep sump oil pan to worry about ( or any other low hang mechanical bits) that would be different. In my eye, there's just two much of a void under the F.

Which is why I think the Velocity springs at .8 inch make a lot more since if one were to consider any lowering of an F-Type used in this area. In particular, the front overhang is substantial and does pose a significant risk in this car.

Alternatively, you could move to Kansas.
