Harry's Garage - review video
Hope they do well....at least they are trying hard to be something fresh (ignore the ad campaign, but that was a success if people talking about them is what they were after....)

Insane? Not really. It's Aston Martin or AMG GT money and less than the top-spec Lucid. So many people raved about the F-Type but not enough bought. I'm reminded of all the "Hey, why are they discontinuing the 6MT in the F-Type? I want one!" talk from people who didn't actually put their money down. Jaguar hasn't been profitable in how long? I think this is a "go big or go home" moment for Jaguar. Losing money every year is not a solid business strategy.
The LR part more than compensates for the J bit.
Losing money making great cars like the F-type wasn't so bad after all. I'd much rather see them go out with dignity than with shame.
I hope heads will roll now that the Internet has already relegated Jaguar to the old jokes archive. The fun and banter are over. All that's left is cringe. That Raw D. Lover, brand and creative director have no place in the automotive industry.

I’ve heard artists say they’d prefer a negative reaction to their work, rather than no reaction. From that viewpoint, this ad campaign is successful - at least, a lot of people are talking about Jaguar, even if they aren’t saying nice things.
In the video above, the host notes that people should invest in Porsche's e-fuel.
That would be ideal.....if it can scale up to supply a country......and be say under a 20% cost hit...I think most people with F-types would take a small fuel cost increase to be able to use them and meet any emissions regulations coming our way.....it would maybe even allow new "ice" engined cars like a f2 or g type... (not to be confused with the g wagon).
We can only hope they do a great car and frankly, at 200k dollars, it is not something I plan to buy.

Synthetic fuels are much bigger than the Porsche-led initiative going on in Chile. Richard Hammond has been doing a great job promoting these alternative fuels that the EV evangelists absolutely hate.
That Harry's garage update on synthetic fuels was really interesting, thanks for posting.
Personally I'm suprised that hydrogen hasn't progressed as much as it has - not for keeping existing or classic cars going, but instead of EVs for new cars. It has the advantage of being able to refuel like petrol plus has zero emissions for city center usage.

@Penfold. I got massacred by the BEV evangelists this week on LinkedIn for raising the same points on hydrogen and synthetic fuels. Converts including people with PhD degrees just don't want to hear anything about a multiple solution approach to car emissions.
The idea of having a solution that can turn the 1.5 billion ICE cars on the roads currently low emissions or net zero is unacceptable. They advocate for scrapping all these cars in 20 years. Like, yeah. What a brilliant and sustainable idea!

and did the BEVs have a suggestion for the then overburdened landfills with all the ICE cars they don't want to retrofit?
I went to the Goodwood Revival this past September and all the race cars were running 'sustainable fuel'. The drivers were flogging their cars, so didn't appear that the SF hurt too badly.

The media doesn't talk about it but the EU is moving to approve ICE development and manufacturing beyond 2035 providing the engines run on synthetic fuel and that'd mean any engine ever made.
1) EU should allow ‘climate-friendly’ fuel cars after 2035

2) Von der Leyen backs e-fuel development

Interesting video. Also interesting that the "I" seems to only include those who agree with this nonsense, or they'll be disciplined. Aren't right-wing nutters equally deserving of tolerance in an "equal society"?
I also don't get the "pride" bit of gay pride - I can understand people being proud of their achievements, but an accident of birth? It's nothing to be ashamed of, but proud? A bit like our "proud Yorkshireman" - you didn't "achieve" your place of birth!
