Default Heads up/ January 2026 6-speed F for sale

Not associated in any way with the seller, but thought to give a heads up on a 2017 Manual, apparently in St. Louis, MO area. @ 57,000 miles

Super cool car, I wish there were more manual trans ones out there in the wild.

Attached the feature sheet from Topix if it helps anyone.

Not a bad price, and looks in pretty decent shape.

It's got some history, which is not necessarily a problem. It depends on the quality of the bodywork. I don't see any reports of dealer visits during the original lease period but am not sure they would show. I also don't see anything about the clutch, so if I were considering this car I'd assume it's the original and factor a clutch/flywheel replacement into the purchase price.

Is there reason to believe an OEM clutch is bad at 60k in normal use?

The 2016 used the Gen1 clutch and flywheel. There is ample evidence here to indicate they are not to be trusted at any mileage.

Why would the dash display 07/01/2014 on a 2017my car?

I was looking at the in-service date, not the model year. I'm not sure when they updated the clutch, so I'll amend my response to "if it's a 2016, definitely, and I'm not sure on the 2017."

Same electronics? I'm sure the zero date wasn't updated with each model year.

The date of the post, so people won’t keep dragging up this thread long after the car has sold. (Presumably.)

The guy just hasn't changed the date to current in the console head unit, which would take about 15 seconds.

Probably had a dead battery a week ago, reset to 01/01/2014 which would be it's default.

For the prodigious history and saga of F type clutches, get a comfortable seat for some deep reading.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...action-158861/

The cliffs notes version:
1. Jaguar is on the 4th gen clutch for this car.
2. Some owners of gen 1 often did not even get their new car home before the clutch gave it up.

As a side note, despite my deep due diligence on Fs prior to my purchase in 2020, I somehow missed this whole issue. I went to buy the car, with no idea. Dealer disclosed that the clutch had been replaced. When I questioned the necessity on a less than 3 year old car with only 24,000 miles, he dismissed it as an incompetent driver. I had the presence of mind to ask for all the repair records and the parts purchase. The car still had 18 months of factory warranty plus an extra 4 months dealer warranty. A week or so later when I came upon that thread, I was just sick. However, I learned, from this forum, that the correct 4th gen clutch had been put in by the selling dealer. I've now had the car over 5 years and it has 43,000 miles with no clutch issues.
And yes, to date the ebay listing for any future reference, I put 2026 in the title. If it sells, you can look up the sale price.

I think my first complaint was when the car was less than a year old. It had an odd intermittency about it and the dealer could not reproduce it. For warranty, they need to actually see the problem themselves, and finally did at 17,000 miles. I gave a brief inspection to the removed parts and in my case, the dual-mass flywheel had jettisoned springs that floated around and would sometimes interfere with operation, then shift out of the way.
