Default HELP: Bolt Fell On My Feet While Driving

Hi All,

I was driving my 2017 Jaguar F-Type V6 manual, when a large black bolt fell onto my feet while driving (see photo). Any ideas what this could be from? The car did not drive differently whatsoever. The bolt is about two inches long, is a regular hex head, and has absolutely no wear. There was nothing else that fell from underneath the console either. Thoughts?

It is likely going to hard for anyone to ID the bolt as to where it goes. Just looking at the style of bolt, it was not upholstery....It appears to have held something substantial. Likely something around the pedals, or steering column. I am sure this was one of several similar for that item. Would suggest laying down and looking up from the driver floorboard with an LED light, and you should be able to find where this is missing.

Good luck,
DC

Maybe a "spare" that was dropped during assembly? Surprised it took that long to work its way out, but you never know, the electrical connector on my fuel pump wasn't fitted securely at the factory (I presume) and took over 2 years to work its way loose enough to cause a fault!

+1 - there are a lot of threads for it to "worked" its way out and those threads appear pretty clean.

Did yours come with the deployable porch swing?

I'd hazard a guess that's a Big-end bolt...that'll teach you to rev it so hard! ;-)
