Default High Water

High water in Houston. The F-Type is in the garage and dry so far but the water is still rising.

This is what you can see of a clover leaf intersection about a half mile from me.

Be safe. Keep to high ground. Praying the rain moves on away from you and that you and yours are safe.

Also: noting where the air intakes are, do not be tempted to drive it through any standing water...

We have plenty of food and water for several days and I do not plan for it to leave the garage until the water goes down.

We have been lucky. No loss of electricity and I have a work computer at home so I can work from here.

The rain is crazy. I haven't moved the Jag since Friday. If we're going to lose a vehicle, it will be the wife's SQ5.

The wild part is that I'm in San Antonio, 190 miles from Houston, had the hurricane 75 miles from me Saturday, and our roads are dry and I went about my normal Monday routine and didn't get the Jag dirty...

Our prayers are with ya, Houston!

No hurricanes up here, but we haven't gone more than a couple days without rain in a little while. Poor little guy needs a wash

Time to put the cat on pontoons. Best thoughts are with you and all in the area. Hang tough and the best to all. We have had some here also.

I've been watching the Houston situation on the news this weekend. Difficult to comprehend that level of rainfall.

Amazed Bill (Bushwacker) is even thinking about working!

Stay safe.

I am Deputy Assistant Director of Payroll for the City of Houston.

Flood or no flood people expect their check in the bank on Friday.

I have been working all weekend.

Same here. I live up in Leander and it's hard to believe how close it was. We certainly got plenty of rain and wind, but the suns out and things are dry. I feel bad for those folks down there. Our friend just texted who evacuated Houston and he said he believes his house is underwater. They are having a hard time assimilating this and it hasn't fully set in.

My thoughts and best wishes are with you, South Texans. May you and your families stay safe and your cars above water.

I worked through my last hurricane too. With a rain dumper like Harvey all you can do is hope to have a garage that as high as possible from street level.

Did you fill up and plug one of your bathtubs to have a source of grey water and fill your freezer with tupperware ice blocks that can be transferred to the fridge if the power goes out?
