Default Hood / Bonnet vents - 2016 F-Type R

Mine are a little sun-faded / heat-faded, and don't look like they are optimal for venting. I live in CA, so heat is more of an issue than rain. I'm considering the Mina Mesh or the SVR carbon replacements. Does anyone have any recommendations? (and alternatives)

Default Black and chrome?

Here is what I did on my 2017 Coupe premium. an easy project (just press in the little tabs from inside the hood). I think these vents were about $45 and found the best price from Harper Jaguar online. There is a vented area just between the chrome and the black.

Although many have removed the engine cover, I have also read that water can find its way in and do damage to various engine components. Even though I live in northcentral WI, after any lengthy drive I just pull into the garage and up the hood.

Only one problem with those vents Valerie - they are for a RWD and the OP has a 2016 R so AWD which means the hood vents are a different shape.

Different placement - further forward and wider apart on the AWD.
Different shape - more curved/less pointy at the front end, so that the two different vent types are not interchangeable.
I think there is a post around here somewhere with pics of the two types side by side but two chances of finding it!

Going with SVR Vents is a good option IMO. Here is what they look like on my AWD R. These are sprayed with a Porsche Black and Clear coated. They absolutely DO fit perfectly with same tabs and pins. Good luck.

I think Oz was just pointing out that the vents are differenr between RWD and AWD hoods.

Thx - can't see the pictures, but I like the idea of a Jaguar part. I'm leaning this way!

Go OEM carbon front to back. Black out all chrome. Go carbon fiber hood and side vents. Front spoiler. Mirrors , rear diffuser, SVR wing. Rhen go to advantage for aftermarket interior. You won't regret it. Draw back..OEM is discontinued and hard to find

Only thing I left non carbon was small gloss black side skirts..carbon was bigger than I wanted.
