Has anyone here removed the supercharger? With all the issues related to plastic pipe failures, I'd like to engage on a mission to replace them with braided hose. I have a local vendor that custom fabricates high pressure hoses that did the piping on my FJ40.

I have not personally had the chance/need on mine yet, but sounds like a worthwhile preventative effort. Like anything, key will likely be to take your time, pay attention, take photos as you go, and end up with no extra parts!

I pulled the instructions for you for a 2016 V so hopefully that will give you some help/guidance in your quest. Also has many of the torque specs etc..

Easier on the F Type as with the hood opening to the front, you have much better access to the back of the engine fittings.
Once all the bolts are removed, it may stick on the dowels, be careful where you choose to pry as the cam covers crack easily.
New hold down bolts are recommended. Make sure the new ones are correct length as the holes are shallow.
It's not a bad job., Helps to have a hand lifting it off though.
