Default How to Get Trans in Neutral If Vehicle is Disabled?

How do you get the transmission in Neutral if the vehicle is disabled? When you shut the vehicle down, it automatically goes into Park. If it has to be loaded onto a rollback truck, how would you roll the vehicle? I have looked all through the Owner's Manual, but can't find anything.

I has an R Coupe.

This may very well be a legitimate question, but you should contact your dealer to find this out.

I don't really want a public record of how to disable security features on the F-Type.

Its no big secret. It's documented on page 5 of the quick start guide

Default Electrical Power Interruption

I was not clear in my original post. What if you do not have electrical power? The procedure on page 5 of the book does not work.

Another Geek,

What Shraderade was possibly getting at is people are pretty slick these days and may attempt to get info from a car forum on how to permanently "borrow" a car without keys. Not saying that rjkasprzak is doing this but the best thing to do is direct them to the dealer especially in situations like this.

Get my drift?

You should probably get the How To removed from the How To section of this site if you're worried. Although the multiple extant internet guides might still give the game away.

It is possible to look up how to build a car bomb on the internet, and by this inane logic perhaps that should also be included in the how to section.

Absolutely, although it may be a little lacking in detail. Unlike the entry in the How To section that covers getting the transmission out of park without any power.

Take a few deep breaths...

I ran into this when getting towed, and then when I got to the dealer - even their tech didn't know how to get it in N without starting it (or rather, he "knew" and when he did what should have worked, it didn't work - so then just started it - which was fun given the context of the state of the engine which was why I was getting it towed there).

I got this from Mike @ Jaguar on another forum, and added it to my manual. It's quite an involved procedure. Let me know if you still need it.

I see the answer has been added to the sticky 'HOW TO' thread, under 11. WHEEL CHANGING
