People have actually rigged up the car jack in the engine compartment to "jack" the injectors out!
Glad to hear not everyone has so much trouble but it's much more common to have a big fight when removing them.

Just read through this whole thread as I have a 2011 XKR that is showing misfires on cylinder 4 then 5 & 6. Got heavy fuel smell from exhaust and white/grey smoke.
I have 2 very experienced mechanic friends so going to attempt a DIY repair.
So far i have got an injector removal tool and also bought 1 brand new Bosch injector and oil/filter for oil change.
I am now thinking I should replace all 4 passenger side injectors and maybe plugs too as car is on 84k and can't see mention in service history of a change.
Reading some of the posts they mention the injector retainers which I will now purchase rather than using the old ones but some difference in opinion on needing the resizer tool? I may get one if they are cheap enough.
it seems like 90% of the work is getting to the injectors hence my reasoning of doing all 4 now with plugs also anyone else have any advice or anything not mentioned above?
I would definitely replace all 4 while you're in there. When I did it, I just bought all new injectors instead of trying to futz with any type of gasket reuse/resizing. Weren't that expensive. Can't remember anything about injector retainers.

Thanks found the correct injectors for £85 each and a set or retainers & spare gaskets for 8 injectors for £16 just in case any are needed. Plugs shouldn't be too much either amd again with everything out of the way silly not to change them.

Please resize ALL injector seals whether the injectors came with them installed or not. Spend some time as it's critical to get the Teflon to cold flow back into place. Go slow and wait as the resizing tool gets tight and wait a minute. Again Teflon moves slowly but it does move. Then push the resizing tool on a bit more until it tight again. If you spend the time to resize the Teflon seals they will install easier. You can scrape or peel a tiny sliver off the Teflon seal if you go too fast. Yes I did this!
As has been posted before there are a lot of counterfeit injectors out there and at 85 GBP I would highly suspicious that they are not real Bosch parts. Look back in this thread and compare how your injectors are marked. We have real Bosch and fake Bosch pictures posted so you can see the difference. It's not much visually but I had a miserable two weeks fighting this and had to remove the stock injectors. Install the fake injectors. Try,try try to start the car. Then go back in remove the fake injectors. Send my OEM injectors out to be cleaned and balanced. Then again re-installed the factory OEM Bosch injectors before I could get my car running.
Thanks for the advice, can't find pics on here comparing fake & real injectors but confident mine are genuine Bosch as they are boxed, have instruction manual and even QR code that goes direct to Bosch website
when looking I found all sorts of prices so i used my general rule of not going too cheap, cheapest I found were £50 each.
I got my extractor tool on its own so will have a look at finding a resizer tool.seperately, thanks again for the heads up.
ldo I need to start the car up to warm it up before tackling removing? I don't really want to run it if I don't have to, a local Indy (non Jag just general) said he had recently done an engine swap on an XFR because or failed injector(s) which had caused bore wash! Mine went into RP locally and I nursed it home.

Looking good! I see the stylized "H" from Hella which has been missing from the counterfeit ones. Also that oval that does NOT touch the 939 inside is another good sign. The zero's are also square looking instead of more rounded on the fakes.
Plus that was good price.
Can you post a link to where you got them? Might help others as I was surprised when FCP sold counterfeit injectors to another forum member.
Here is how my counterfeit injector was marked. Note mine also came in proper Bosch boxes or so I thought!

Yeah I went for the cheapest one that said Bosch injectors and just ordered one at first to make sure they were correct. Can't believe the difference in proces though up to £400 each some places!
I have a 2017 Jaguar F Type with the 3.0 6 cylinder. This write up helped me tremendously while changing my injectors. I want to add one tip that really helped me with a stuck injector. I was able to get 5 of the 6 injectors out with the slide hammer with not too much trouble. However, the 6th injector was a bear. It was really stuck. After a couple hundred blows with the slide hammer I was off to Harbor Freight to invest in an Air Hammer. Once in my possession I used the hammer bit and slide hammer in combination. Here is what I did: I mounted the slide hammer the proper way and then slid the hammer portion to the top of the nut and placed the air hammer bit against the slide hammer so that it would strike in a manner to force the slide hammer up and away in the same fashion as if I was using my hands to manipulate the slide hammer. After a few seconds of beating on the slide, I stopped to check. On the 2nd application I really let it go. I hammered away with the air hammer for about 20 seconds and the force popped the injector out! Success! So, if you have a stuck injector, go buy a cheap air hammer at Harbor Freight and use it against the slide hammer. You will not only save blisters on your hand, you will get stuck injectors out much easier. Sorry I don't have pictures or video but trust me, it worked like a charm!
It's best to let the injectors soak for a day or two in penetrating oil before attempting to remove them from the cylinder head.
@rmoonks, you are very fortunate indeed the injector body didn't snap requiring the cylinder head to be removed.
Agreed-I used PB Blaster each day for 3 days before removing the injectors. As I mentioned before, 5 came out fairly easy, the 6the was really stuck henceforth the air hammer.

I've replaced my injectors on the drivers side (cylinders 2-8) of my 2011 XF 5.0L, and and trying to get it all back together.
Getting the fuel rail on is incredibly hard, as I don't know how where the last clip (over cylinder 8) holding the fuel system electrical harness housing in place is, which makes it impossible to place the fuel rail in place.
I've released the front and middle clips, so I can move the harness around by not at the end near the firewall.
Can anyone tell me where that clip is?, or how l release the end of the harness?
