That's entirely believable on a 2015 demo. The same 20% or so discount could be had last year about this time on 2014s. It's a great way to buy a nearly new car if you can find one you like, and you're wise. Congratulations!

The doubt expressed in this thread was regarding a discount claimed by someone on a brand new 2016.

2016 FType S AWD convertible
Dealer VIP car, with only 30 miles, and was in showroom
MSRP: $93K
Leased it;
Capitalized cost reduced to $78k
Monthly payment is $37/month more than the $50k Q5 I just turned in.

I have 2000 miles on it now, I absolutely love it, but still trying to figure out how I got such a great deal.

It's stratus gray, and have since seen a similar deal on another in stratus gray, same car......It's beautiful....not sure if they discount the color...or what?!?!?

Just for comparison, ordered my 2016 F-Type (just plain old basic model) here in the UK.

Storm Grey,
Sports seats - Cirrus Leather,
dark hex aluminum veneer,
Power fold mirrors,
Cruise control,
Parking pack,
Switchable exhaust,
Cold Climate Pack
Red Roof
Vision pack

Total Cost (OTR, deducting dealer £1000 deposit contribution) £48,695

expecting to pick it up 11 Nov

Car gurus site says there is a 20k or so discount on f types from jags on 2015's. Could that be correct?

20% if you're lucky, not $20K.

With various models and option packages resulting in MSRPs ranging from $65K to over $110K, you won't find a deal on a new base model for $45K. That's $10K lower than I was offered on a trade-in for my 14 when it was more than a year old.

For new/unregistered non-demo vehicles, 2015's are generally seeing discounts of 10% or better and 2014's are generally seeing 20% or better.

Of course, some dealerships are selling demo vehicles for much deeper discounts... they are still considered new/unregistered vehicles in many cases, but they will often have 500+ miles on the clock. So a 20% discount is possible for a 2015 MY but much more likely on a demo vehicle.
