sun visor functionality
Hope you are KIDDING?

Those little visors are useless...better to hold your hand in front of your face to block the sun.

The vanity mirrors are only large enough to check one eyebrow at a time....

Here in MI, municipalities have jurisdiction on highways running through their city limits, and those local PDs are both the greater risk and more likely to use laser compared to MI state police. In my experience, it’s very rare that MSP run laser, and in fact I can’t recall experiencing it other than once, many years ago, when they were running a “wolfpack,” with a laser shooter hidden on an overpass with several pursuit cars positioned on the on-ramp on the other side of the overpass waiting for the target call. Mostly MSP doing rolling patrols, at least in the Detroit area I frequent. City cops shooting laser on the highway is what may be on the rise from what I’m seeing— my Escort Max360 detects laser— but to date it has been manageable without jammers because there are only so many spots they can set up along the highways within a given city’s jurisdiction, and fewer yet where they can operate hidden. But, if more laser guns start coming into first use, in places they’re unexpected, I could get into trouble, and I don’t want any part of that headache; I don’t want to talk to the cops, I don’t want to go to court, I don’t want to pay fees, I don’t want my insurance to go up, and I don’t want a criminal record…none of it. When the road is clear, though, I do want to let the machine run!

They are dinky and funny, but already a passenger and I have had occasion to use them, so yeah, I’m serious!

I know what you're saying, particularly about the steering. I had a Giulia lease that I loved deeply, that Giorgio platform is a masterpiece. They threw one of the engineers from the 458 Speciale on it, which I think explains a lot of the delicacy and magic in that car. It sounds like a horrible cliche but it's true. Everybody should drive one.

I currently daily a CT4 Blackwing which I also love and is widely considered excellent to drive, but damn if I still don't occasionally pine for the Giulia's steering rack in that too.

Yeah, they may be dinky but they're kind of appropriate for the screen size and angle. Worst thing about them for me is they don't swivel to block side sun through the door window.

Thanks for chiming in! So few people have driven a Giulia, they just have no idea. Most cars drive pretty damn well these days, so it’s hard to conceive what we’re on about when we exalt the Giulia and talk about stuff like “magic.” I appreciate being able to share the excitement with you!

The F drives like a truck compared to the Giulia, but I’m learning to love it regardless.

The Caddy is cool, eh? I should go check those out. I’ve loved the exterior styling for years, and am particularly fond of the fastback styling on CT5. I know the Blackwings are bad, too, and can really hustle. Maybe because I’m in my mid-50s, it’s just hard for me take the Cadillac name seriously; I lived through their darkest hours!

it would not surprise me if swiveling sun visors were an option with Jag on the F. I’m only slightly joking about that…

Yeah, it's been a very fun way to get around. Fits my two kid seats in the back no problem and the manual transmission in it is excellent.

I'm younger than you but still old enough to remember early 00s and recession-era GM disasters. I have a couple friends with the 5BW but that's a bigger, heavier car that drives closer to the Jag than the 4BW does. Much more delicacy in the 4 and more than enough power anyway.

Talking of swivelling sun visors, nup, no such option and never was.
The fact that the sun visors don't swivel has bugged me from day one of ownership (seeing as the sun can be a tad fierce in líl ol' Adelaide), so years ago I did a heap of research into finding a solution. I even bought some fabric and other stuff with the idea of making a pull down visor above the driver's window but it turned out to be beyond my meagre abilities.
I ended up buying a plastic dark tinted sun visor shaped gadget which simply slides up inside the window glass, works a treat.
