Default I haven't seen a good luggage thread in some time!

I'm a vert. I had the 5 piece luggage set. I think it's all dead now, meaning the laptop case was useless and too small, the suitcases wore out of their "performance nylon" and started tearing because of the way you sorta have to jam them in the trunk. The wash bag was whatever, but MAN that flat garment bag was one of the best things I've ever owned, I ended up using it for overnights to work when I flew somewhere. But a sewer main killed all of it in storage. Yuck. Since then it's just been soft sided stuff I have. I've sort of gotten into packing cubes. It's fantastic.

This is the 5 piece set. It was much cheaper when I bought it: https://shop.jaguarusa.com/f-type-5-piece-luggage-set

I really hate branded things. I'm not advertising things for your company. Tommy Bahama used to be WAY worse, but I'm sure there a leather name somewhere (edit: oh it's all over the leather duh), however demure. That being said, as nice as this bag seems for the trunk / well area: https://www.tommybahama.com/en/Palaw.../p/4377C02-271

Although a briefcase too small for my laptop, this looks like it would be PERFECTO to slide into the narrow trunk portion of the vert, while still offering space: https://www.tommybahama.com/en/Palaw.../p/4377C01-271

So in being on the hunt in 2021, I was wondering where you're at. We've had this discussion before, but there's new stuff, new ideas, aftermarket products for the F-Type now that's it's been around for almost 10 years (wow). I'd be really interested if other people are into packing cubes, but whatever works for you, I want to hear about it!

I generally do the following for weekends away… seems to work well for me and misses, who doesn’t exactly pack light!
- squishy rucksack and shoes in lower small storage space in the middle of the boot
- suit bag for all hang-able clothes, folded in half in the tight space at the ‘back’ + laptop bag if any work is needed
- 2 x small suitcases/cabin cases in main storage area
- other shoes, towels, wine, champagne, food etc shoved in the gaps at the side/behind the cases
- umbrella tucked down side of passenger seat between seat and door

so far haven’t seen the need for any fancy f-type specific luggage!

Attendees of the 2021 Jaguar F-Type Magical Mystery Tour were each given both the L.L. Bean Stowaway Daypack and the L.L Bean Stowaway Duffle courtesy (a.k.a free) of Jaguar Land Rover Scarborough Maine. (Less than 24 hours from suggesting making these bags for attendees did I have a check in hand, made out to L.L. Bean, to produce them. And you wonder why I love my dealership!)

The bags are great quality, light as a feather, and great looking.

Tommy Bahama. What a scam. I went into the St. Armands store back in 98 (?) when I lived on Lido. It was like being at a Jimmy Buffet show on acid.
Funny you should mention luggage. I just curbed our last mismatched set of Kohls no-name junk, and was kind of looking for some new stuff to put my stuff in,
I bought a coupe, so I can pack like Diana Ross.

Funny, you've commented before that you found the laptop bag to be useless because it's so small. But, I've found it nice for weekend trips when I'm not doing any serious work, but need a laptop, pad, and misc accessories. Meanwhile, you'd be welcome to my unused garment bag. I'm attached to my Hartmann that's been to every continent.
To each his own. Cheers!

I've used my luggage set exactly twice. My wife will not travel long distances in the Jag after our long ago second trip to SoCal. Nothing to do with my driving of course!

This is the best luggage ever. Very cheap, very flexible and when you check in in the Waldorf, nobody expect you to drive an F-Type:

As I usually fly solo, I got a roller bag that fits perfectly in the passenger footwell, and my camera/electronics bag sits on top of that. Leaves room in the trunk for golf clubs, etc.

This E Type restomod by Helm comes with a custom leather interior and set of matching luggage. I shudder to think what the luggage alone would cost. But I agree that soft sided luggage, or a carry on suitcase paired with a couple of medium sized duffle bags and a garment bag on top if you have a coupe will hold quite a bit of clothes and other essentials.

One of the other luggage Topics mentioned this brand of luggage.

You can't use a plain 'ol Hefty bag. You need to customize them with some "Jaguar" stickers.

Granted, makes the luggage seem more appropriate.

But the price increases X3!!!

You've mentioned before how much you liked the garment bag. What about it made it so much better than what you'd used previously?

My recent trip was not by automobile and my luggage needs were specific, but I have taken to using packing cubes. The specificity is that I needed a bag that safely fit my riding gear, helmet included, and within the 50lb. limit. For that I have a wheeled case that is more duffel-shaped. It's made by Victorinox, and I got it at a local luggage store.

I have a messenger-style bag from 5.11 that I use as a laptop case. It fits my larger laptop with room to spare. It's pretty heavy duty.

I was all about packing cubes on my recent trip to Italy. Since we were going to a new place every few days, it made the process of finding clean clothes/repacking every few days very simple.

My favorite comedy, a sketch show on Netflix called "I Think You Should Leave" (akin to Monty Python or Kids in the Hall but far more modern/relevant), literally *just* made fun of the Tommy Bahama, Reyn Spooner, "Men's Fashion" nonsense. Your Margaritaville on acid NAILS that whole "thing". I don't get it, but I guess I'm meat and potatoes and don't want to be seen or stand out. Anyhoo... There's a second clip of the men voraciously shopping at the store like animals, but this one is just so funny to me. However, like Monty Python, going in cold might not help, because it's a very specific type of humor.

I do not have nor use FB, but it's the only link of the sketch I could find:
https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=371243821238540

it's at 2m5sec at this link, if you have netflix: https://www.netflix.com/watch/81212176

Those are perfect, and you reminded me to look into my camping / fishing stuff too. I love new bag tech. Those light bags are amazing

I don't kickstart anything anymore after a real bad bad experience, but honestly I saw these the other day and it's about the same thing:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ltralight-bags

But I know these are on market, and I LOVE BOTH THOSE, and will likely search ebay, etc for those identical ones! So great! Thanks for sharing.

Ooh that garment bag! =) I'm antiquated with a 17" souped up laptop, so yeah... not for my purposes and perfect for yours. It does take all types! =)

It must be the car, because my wife is the same and honestly it could NEVER [wink] be my driving. She had no idea a non-dynamic mode existed LOL my bad.

Wait, all 5 of those pieces will fit in the trunk of a convertible? I can get a case of beer in there and my window shade and I'm about out of room.

While on the subject of luggage—although these might not technically be considered luggage—and while I am plugging two great companies; these L.L. Bean boat tote bags are made of durable but pliable canvas and have proven to be a big hit with attendees (or should I say attendee wives?) over the years. We’ve had them made on 4 separate occasions—the first 3 years L.L. Bean provided them gratis and when they could no longer do that Jaguar Land Rover Scarborough Maine stepped in and foot the bill. (Are you still wondering why I love my dealership?).
