iCarsoft Bi-Directional for Multiple OEMs?
I have seen several forum members recommend the iCarsoft JLR scan tool similar to this one -
. Does anyone have recommendations for a similar tool that will work with multiple OEMs, including JLR, GM, Toyota, etc.? iCarsoft seems to have a few different options that could fit the bill, but I'm not sure how to choose the best option. I'm looking for a bi-directional tool for ABS activation (bleeding), code reading and clearing, etc. Any recommendations based on first-hand experience would be appreciated.
I have the iCarsoft CR Max. It is compatible with about 30 manufacturers. I have used it on the wife's Porsche for service intervals and for backing off the electric rear parking brake for pad replacement. I haven't had the need to use it on my F Type or F150 yet. Plus, they give free software updates for life.
I briefly had an iCarsoft Max and returned it. It would do bidirectional stuff on the Jaguar but not on late model Toyota, Nissan or Mazda. It would work on them for basic code retrieval but nothing bidirectional like parking brake maintenance mode. It couldn't even identify the VIN #s automatically.
I currently have an iCarsoft LR V3.0 strictly for use on the Jaguar and it works very well.
