Illuminated "gear selected" on shift knob?

I can't really see the point of having them there, and I guess JLR came to the same conclusion at some point...
What I like is the large gear display of selected gear in the middle of the main display (between the speedo and rpm clocks) when Sport and manual mode is selected.
It looks a lot like the F1 cars I was lucky to get to drive on a track on my 50. Birthday (the F1 cars that Trully and Sato drove in 2002/2003).
A nice Birthday present to get from my lovely wife
Edit: checked mine with a flashlight, and I could not see that there were any "segments" hidden there - so I guess the hardware is missing as well.
