Removing the fuse will disable the vacuum operation of the exhaust valve. If you do this, conventional wisdom says you should plug the vacuum lines and zip tie them out of the way, so they don't accumulate dirt. If you want the best of both worlds and complete control over valve actuation, you can do what I did and have a tech fit a module on the valve that can be controlled by a push button remote. That way, you can close it or open it when YOU like, not when dictated by engine revs.

I believe the lipstick is the default color scheme for the GT, you actually have to unselect it in the configurator, so it is highly unlikely finding one unless you configured it. Congrats on a beautiful car.

I have a 2012 V8 Vantage. Pull fuse 22. No vacuum lines or zip ties. Just pull the damn fuse.

Kodiak,
I occasionally see a grey AM on Rt 62 in Bedford (where I work.) You? I'm the Salsa Red F-type.

DJS - Mine is a blue convertible, but it spends most of its days in the mountains of upstate NY.

I've only ever seen 3 F-Types in the area, a black coupe and 2 red convertibles. One vert was definitely IRR, the other may have been Salsa.

It's weird that I see more Astons than F-Types around Boston. Then again, I see way more Teslas than Jags of all stripes.

Was fun rereading this thread as I am now considering an AM GT to replace my R Coupe.

There is a nice a Alloro green one with no lipstick, just the white lower stripe for a pretty good price near me.

Not sure if you are still around SoCalJagS, but if you are, how have you liked your GT?

Yes I still have it and really love it. Definitely made the right choice.

I was not exactly excited about the manual and the clutch action on that car; it was heavy. So I called it a "young man's" car. I'm older now, although I do enjoy driving a manual. My question is: Is the manual+clutch on your 2016 car the same as 2007 model that I drove, or has it been changed/upgraded?
I hadn't read this old thread in a long time. And you are quite correct driving this car for a few hours hard is work. Nothing like modern cars today. It's so much fun but you can feel it when your done. Clutch is stiffer than most. Steering is heavier than the new electric. If the roads are bad it can beat you up.

I love this car.

I owned a couple of Maserati GT's and when I was ready for something new I was also looking to buy a used AM DB9 or Vantage but I called my Maser dealership that also sells AM, and spoke to the service guys and they said anything older than a few years to stay away from. The thing about cars like AM, Maserati, Ferrari etc is I wouldn't own one without a warranty and even with that, regular service is insane Oil change on my Maserati was $700+ Soooo I went for the F-Type V6 and LOVE IT!

We are on our 2nd Maserati Ghibli. kept first 39 months and traded early because of crazy deals on '17. Would never own without warranty! You just never know. I'm in decision stage on buying extended on F Type, expires 9/13/17. Very low miles with no problems but 4 years old! I'm a big fan of cpo which this sort of would be, coverage but no 120 pt check.

What kinds of deals are you getting on that car?
