InControl generating false security alerts
My InControl in my F-Type convertible is currently generating a lot of false alerts. Sometimes as many as half a dozen a day. I can’t really disable it as the car is more difficult/expensive to insure without a tracker in the UK. Obviously I could install a third-party tracker but I did pay for this service so want it to work.
The call centre say it’s an ‘antenna fault’ but my Jag independent has no idea what the cause of that is. I can see a main dealer wanting to replace the telematics unit or all sorts of nonsense that drives up the cost.
Has anyone found a cure that doesn’t involve parts that apparently cost over a grand from a main dealer?

Have you tried simply removing the Telematics battery and leaving it out for 10 minutes? Then reconnect it and reset the telematics? It might work as this is what I had to do before I could get the right battery in for mine. Either way I hope you find a solution
That’s what I plan to try. The TCU is less accessible in the convertible it seems as you need to take the roll bars off to get the fascia out. But replacing the battery seems plausible.
Just logging some new information for anyone else with this. There are two battery types:
Battery Telematics T4N2591
2014 model with VIN ending K47319
Battery Telematics T2R23864
Later years with VIN ending K47320
Also, the company that runs the security alert response for InControl is able to disable the specific alert that is triggered for me (an antenna alert). Right now I’m not getting the alerts so that appears to have worked. In theory the remaining tracker alerts will continue to work.
