Infotainment screen Will not turn on after three weeks in body shop
Left my 2017 F-Type Base model in to body shop for minor dent repair above passenger door. Slight interaction with Rail crossing gate...
Picked it up after three long weeks. Drove home 14 miles, infotainment screen did not come on tried powering it up several times, nothing. Got home turned off locked car. Unlocked and started again, still nothing.
Got a battery low warning on instrument panel. Locked car for the evening hoping it would be fine somehow this morning. Nope! Drove 25 miles to work. Got battery low again as I was exiting car.
The battery is 2 years old. The body shop said they jumped it off twice to start and move the car. I believe they had left the car unlocked for long periods of time. Could they have damaged it jumping it off incorrectly? Car drives fine and all other powered items accessories etc working fine. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

The answer is so obvious that it is being shouted: the battery is nowhere near full voltage! These cars need fully charged batteries…when the voltage drops strange things begin to happen but when you actually get a battery warning message, the issue is is clear and so is the fix.
And while the battery may be only two years old, its time and treatment in the shop may have damaged it. Begin with charging the battery FULLY as SCM has suggested.

Ok So problem solved. I ordered a charger since I did not own one which will come Friday, however after driving another 40 miles and parking at home the low battery warning did not show up again but the screen was still dead. I disconnected the battery for 10 Minutes then reconnected and this morning all was good. Thank you for your input!
Glad you're going in the short run. Hopefully the charger you bought was a CTEK (made for maintaining batteries, and not one of the old-school chargers). If so, give the car a good long run (like overnight). Some models have a reconditioning mode that might be helpful. I really think they help with battery life, as well as avoiding power issues, such as you experienced. I just replaced the original battery on my MY14 last year, and that was more on general principle than any known issue.

I did order the CTEK charger. Hopefully I can get plenty of life out of mine now!
