Default Interior overspray paint removal feedback

Hello all,

I wanted to see if you
might have any suggestions for removing black paint overspray inside the car after a lousy leather scratch repair. I attached 2 photos in which you can see that the black overspray is on the plastic center console pieces, as well over the leather surface of glovebox. What would be the best way to remove these without making the situation any worse? The guy who botched the job wanted to use Simple Green degreaser, but I stopped him thinking it might not be good for the plastic and the leather. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I think Simple Green would be safe, but not sure it would remove the paint. The sooner you do it the better as it will cure over time and become harder to remove.

I'd have a little crack with olive oil on a cotton wool ball.

If that doesn't work maybe try some eucalyptus oil? Dab on, rub, wipe off with a MF cloth.
I have used it for years to remove glue, paint, stains etc and it works a charm while doing zero damage to the underlaying material no matter what it is.
The only downside is it has a very strong smell which lingers for hours and even days but eventually the smell completely fades away.

Thanks! I heard about eucalyptus oil in other places too. Is it safe on leather as well?

Don't know for sure but it most probably is.
Best bet is to first try a little on an inconspicuous or hidden bit of leather, maybe on the underside of a seat, and see how it goes.

I'm worried it might remove the plastic coating.

I'm wondering if something like 303 Interior Cleaner or Griot Interior cleaner would remove them?

303 is always good. Alcohol, with an interior leather conditioner is also good.
