Hoping not to see the word Copart in there! ;-)

Is that link to Jaguar's Owner's club only for UK owner's. It does allow selection of USA as location, but it says that online info not supported for my vehicle?

No way Jaguar road-tested for 2 years and not seen slipping clutch issue. I am skeptical that OP somehow got an early MT prototype (that probably never existed) and it was updated with a later dash and so on.

It is typo in a document or hoax or VIN rebadging to hide bad title history.

Based on production sequence number, the car was definitely built during the MY2015 production cycle (March 2014- February2015). The features indicate an MY2016. If the VIN truly belongs to this vehicle, you have a rare pre-production unit that was used for real world testing or produced as a press vehicle. Given the production date, most likely the former. Other than this car, I know of no regular production MTs with a sequence number of anything less than a 27xxx.

I can honestly say that the VIN truly does belong to this vehicle. As previously stated, it came from Inchcape Jaguar Guildford with a full 2 years Jaguar approved Warranty. So, what is it I actually have here? Whatever it is, it has certainly landed on its feet as I’m fanatical about my cars & tend never to sell them on. Just to add, I also have the full build Topix sheets as well.

Unhinged...I cannot for the life of me get the car to repeat the “Clutch Slip” I’m now wondering if, due to the danger of the situation I was in when it happened, If it was the rear wheels spinning causing the lack of grip & smell? To be honest, I just needed to get out of the situation fast & didn’t take a lot of notice what was happening...the smell was like hot brakes...

Did you check the label on the drivers door sill that gives manufacture date, etc?

first of all. If it’s a manual it’s a 2016-2017. Second of all the start button is black and the shifting paddles are silver. Therefore it’s 100000% a 2016 model year.

Here's the test:
Do a full throttle zero-60 run with a fast 1st to 2nd shift. If you have the dreaded 1st generation clutch, the clutch will not fully engage in 2nd gear and will just initiate a meltdown until you let off on the throttle. Then it will catch and act like a clutch in good condition. Gentle drivers will never experience this slippage.

Your description of the situation certainly indicates you have this issue.

Get a different shop compare VIN numbers and make sure they match. There is one stamped on the engine block, one on dash and there are couple other hard-to-get to places. If they all match, then it is what it is. Document this.

A unicorn, one of a kind car that is probably collectable, or you are a victim of a scam.

Yes, it is a model year 2016, but apparently built in 2014 as a pre-production-cycle road tester.

I'm not disputing the MY, see my previous post for the explanation of the registration.

If that is the case, we know it was driven very gently all the time and never seen track use.
