I'll let you do the research.

There's plenty of information on both this, and the UK Forums.
For starters:
https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/search...eywords=copart

I don't want to taint any views/conclusion that you draw from other members findings.

Just out of interest, where are the VIN stampings in the hard-to-get-to places?

(I'm NOT reaching inside anyone's panties! although I DID search this Forum & Google. )

My manual identifies the VIN locations as left side B pillar, etched onto a plate visible through the windscreen and stamped on the vehicle's body on the right front suspension turret. And also through the Vehicle Information menu, of course.

Thanks, but those don't seem THAT hard to get at.

Now, if they stamped the VIN into the inside of the rear bulkhead, that would be different!

Ok Guys...My Car was built as a 2016 M/Y. It was first registered on 18/9/2014. The manufacturer Warranty began on 4/1/2015. A SVA/IVA Certificate was issued on 23/11/2016. It then went to Copart (Special Vehicle Operations) on 30/11/2016 with 6699 miles on the clock where a 16000 mile/12 month service was completed. It then went to Inchcape Jaguar Guildford where it was sold to Mr Xxxx. He did 11,000 miles in it & then traded it back to Incape who sold it on 25/10/18 with 18,197 miles on the clock to Mr. Yyyy. He kept it until I purchased it on March 5th with 19,500 miles on the clock & the balance of the full jaguar 2 years warranty. He sold it as he decided he couldn’t get on with the manual transmission & wanted an Auto.

So, there’s the history, what do you, in your knowledgeable opinions, think I have here?

Cheers Guys.

It can only be a pre-production once off special to check out the new manual gearbox and maybe a few other things such as the upgraded graphics and infotainment system that came in with the 2016 MY.

Why would it need an SVA/IVA certificate if it was manufactured in UK to start?

It would need that certificate if it was a one off or a small quantity run. The manual wasn’t officially launched until 2016 M/Y & this car was built before production began

... Or it's the front half of a 16 grafted onto an undamaged earlier 14 rear end 😉

If it was a FrankenJag, why would it have gone to SVO at the end of 2016?

Hopefully I’ve managed to attach some photos...
You did indeed, and very nicely done... the car is beautiful, but some people are better at photography than others. Congrats, and have fun! If you drive it across the pond, I'll drive from CA to NY for a spirited drive with our east coasters. =^)

Thank you Unhinged. She is what she is & I intend to enjoy her as such. I don’t intend to put rocket launcher miles on her & keep her forever along with my mint 1993 Rover Cabriolet & 2000 Land Rover Discovery.

If if anyone else would like to try adding to the history I’ve found, please PM me for any information you require.

Cheers.

You would be most welcome. It would give me great pleasure for others to enjoy her too. Thank you for your kind comments.

Just to confirm for everyone on the forum and specially so the original poster knows.
After getting all the manual transmission VINs I can confirm this Rhodium Silver was the first manual transmission F-Type made. It was part of a preproduction batch made in late 2014.
VIN SAJAD65W0G8K18042

Ftyperegistry…Thank you so much for confirming this for me, I really appreciate it. Do you have any more information to hand & any advice if she is indeed a “keeper”?

many thanks again.

I do not have any other info but it was used on some early media review videos. As with most things. . The distinction of being the first can be viewed as positive or negative.

Hey! I’ve been following your posts for a while - do you happen to have the production numbers for british racing green on camel interior manual Ftypes? I have a ‘17 that i got some months ago and was curious. thanks for all the work you’ve put in compiling the VINs, i’m sure it wasn’t easy
