After a long hiatus from local tv broadcasting, I saw an F-Type ad returning with the ever-popular tagline. Sales must be falling short of production for them to be spending on tv advertising (over 600 new '16s currently available on cars.com). Hopefully, Jag is about ready to issue the club discount for the FY2016 models.

Suppose it depends on what channels you watch. I have been seeing Jaguar commercials with some intensive regularity for a few years now, and while the F-Type gets a lot of airtime, the other models get their share as well...

I've seen a lot of Land Rover ads, and very few Jag sedan ads, but no F-Type ads since the 2014 Super Bowl. Perhaps the DC market is so stodgy, it doesn't warrant any sport car ads. I've only seen 2 F-Types in the wild here since they were first introduced.

Lots of F-type commercials on ESPN. At least once an hour.

Well...there ya go. Don't pay for the sports channels. Would rather spend my money on an F-Type (and will).

I think ESPN is on basic cable. I see F type commercials everyday, but your correct, F types aren't moving off the lots that fast.

Sales for the 2106 F-Type for the first 5 months are: US 1701, Canada 189 according to GoodCarBadCar. That's a total of 1890 cars, or an average of 380 cars per month for these two markets. A Forum member reported the factory capable of producing 80 cars per day, which means about 1600 cars per month. So where are they selling the rest, or have they slowed down the assembly line?

lhoboy - are those 600 F-Type in dealer inventory in just the US?

The "new car sales" numbers on GoodCarBadCar and just that, NEW sales. That being said, some of those sales are 2015 models that are still being sold as "New" just in the 2016 calendar year. If you look, they still show a few XKs being sold too.

Not really sure where you came up with these numbers... The 2016 F Type has only been available since April 2nd, just over 2 months.

Also the factory may make 80 cars per day, but it doesn't just make F types, other models are produced there too. There is no way in hell they are making 20000 F Types a year.

Those 600 are all new 2016 F-Types in the U.S.. In total, there are about 1000 new F-Types, including 2014 and 15 models, in stock.

If your data are based on a cars.com search, their database is not all that accurate. Many of their ads are for cars ordered but perhaps months away from delivery, cars already sold, and double-counts.

I rarely watch TV these days. When I do, I haven't seen a Jag commercial yet. Must be region/location...

I certainly can't speak to the cars sold and double counts, but the most recent of the listings were released from the shipping company to JNA last month.

Default f type

mine gets a lot of interest here in NY metro area. In fact a panamera driver on the LIE just this morning flagged me down to give a big thumbs up. I have seen few, and Ive had quite a few cell phone shots done as I drive. The interest is there. I see more new 991s and theyre a 15-20k premium over the R. There are 1710 new 911s on Cars.com

Love him, hate him, or otherwise...there are two F-Type commercials on Bill Oreilly's show every day. One around the 10 minute mark and the other around 38 minute mark. Since we prerecord the show, all commercials are buzzed right thru.
The show reaches several million viewers every day.

Used to watch the No Spin Zone a lot! Very entertaining regardless of politics. But even national shows have regional commercials. I just think SF Bay Area doesn't get that many non-Prius commercials

We seem to be getting a good number of ads on sports channels here in Sac. The sports bar the wife and I sing karaoke at has so many screens, and sometimes it's hard to find a screen that hasn't played an F-Type ad in the last 5 minutes.

Makes it incredibly hard to sing, however, as I'm either watching the ad instead of the lyrics, or thinking to myself, "I've got one of those amazing things..." and smiling.

That 80 per day is for the world wide market. If the U.S./Canada market get 380/month that is a lot and sounds about right.

Ah, that's why I remember seeing them all the time. Of course, since the price of a commercial spot is a function of viewership, those are cheap commercials to purchase.
